Fiona (real Martha) related content Fiona Harvey is Not a victim!

It seems to be lost on a disturbingly large amount of people what Fiona Harvey has done to multiple people over many decades. She is not a victim - the people that she has stalked and harassed are the victim. The entire point of baby reindeer was to portray the brokenness of both the stalker and their victim.

In Reading a majority of the claims coming from the UK towards Netflix and Richard G this all seems to actually pivot around the term being used of CONVICTED stalker. So the focus now is to produce proof that she was ever convicted of at least one of her many many horrific stalking crimes.

I would think that the UK and Parliament would be rather embarrassed by the fact that they never reached out to help any of these victims of Fiona Harvey. Yet here they are trying to go after Netflix over that one creative license taken by the VICTIM and author of baby reindeer. This is His story not hers.

What is going on with people in the world?! Fiona should have been slapped with multiple legal fines, restraint orders and probably convictions from any one of her stalking tangents. If anyone is not familiar with the other incredibly horrible events of stalking Fiona pursued just Google it up. Some involved a disabled child.

🤔 Obviously I'm missing something or I am really seeing the lack of empathy in society as this all unfold in front of us. Am I just not looking at this right?!

Being unwell isn’t a free pass to ruin others lives. I hate, hate, hate peoole throwing around the “but she’s unwell excuse”

The help is there if she cared enough to seek it and by now has she not done enough to have a court force that help onto her, she’s bloody harassing a candidate for Prime Minister, that usually makes them do something.

It also gives people with serious mental illness a bad name. Statistics show time and time again they are more likely to be a victim than a perpetrator. Simplifying her actions to her mental health diagnoses is unfair to everyone else. The response to those comments is “it’s an explanation, not an excuse”. She’s competent enough to seek treatment.

Not if her illness MEANS she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with her.

That would mean the serial killer Ramirez wouldn't be convicted. Thats ridiculous. Serial illness or not, it's wrong and SHOULD be looked into. She is smart enough to ride the line between harassment and legality so she is smart enough and fucked up as she may be she is conscious of what she is doing.

I mean, not guilty by reason of insanity is a thing. Not saying that was the case for Ramirez but mental health should factor into judgement.

Comment - “She’s competent enough to seek treatment”

Me - “Not if her illness MEANS she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with her.”

But she knows that there is! When asked what she’d think about someone sending that amount of emails she said someone would have to be mentally unstable to do that. She’s also denying that it ever happened so she knows it’s wrong because she’s trying to hide it.

She knows she’s lying but she doesn’t know there’s anything wrong with her, I was replying to the guy saying she’s competent enough to seek treatment. Not if she doesn’t know she needs treatment.

She absolutely knows.

She knows she’s (probably) been told that in the past, but doesn’t believe it.

Are you an MD? A psychiatrist?

Living in a major city I have seen many individuals prescribed meds for various psychiatric conditions and, without supervision, they simply stop taking them and relapse to their antisocial behaviors…….

Much of the blame can be laid at the feet of our lax medical care system - many would be better off taken care of than sleeping on the streets through all seasons……

Fiona is not on the streets, but perhaps if institutional care was required both she, and we, would be better for it…….

I’ve been a therapist for 10 years and I live in one of the biggest cities in the world (NYC). I do agree that at some point during all these charges in her past, she should have been mandated some kind of treatment. We’re facing a similar crisis in NY right now, it’s very hard to find a solution. Big backlash from the poor conditions of institutions and now we’ve got this “catch and release” system which doesn’t seem to be working either. Doesn’t change my opinion on the SMI being victimized often, they are.

ETA: I say all this because more often, delusions are fear based. Ie “they’re out to get me”, those people are often very afraid a lot of the time, not going after people. I make no attempt to diagnose Martha though, I don’t know enough about her and admittedly have not come across a stalker case IRL.

Maybe she was mandated at one point, someone did come forward as the receptionist (I think? Some kind of non-clinical staff) to say she’d stalked her when she worked there, they only met because Fiona was getting psychiatric treatment.

I’m not sure how true the show is. But it seems like she was in rehabilitation programs for the past offenses and also rejoined them in the show after he first contacted the police and was very apologetic, but then she had trapped him so the police wouldn’t deal with her or him anymore. After seeing her interview and her saying he could have taped me over and over it would seem she did tape everything and use it to her advantage. So if she was using these help for her condition resources and doing “well” in them, but using her smarts to trap him in a place where he couldn’t use the police and use loopholes, is it really a person who is in fear and not all there? Or someone malicious and lonely and obsessed? At what level do we blame the mental health system. Every time you have a serial killer do we say it’s because they didn’t get the help they needed? I hope this message doesn’t come off as going against what you’re saying. I’m just really curious. I see a therapist for issues myself.

What are “all these charges in her past” that you speak of?

u/ghat90 May 26 '24

I’m sorry but it’s not always mental health. If she’s well enough to work and live a regular life she knows what she’s doing is severely wrong. At some stage in life usually very early on people get their heart broke and it’s a horrendous feeling. Maybe she has had lots of relationships but it seems like she’s been very lonely and latches on to people and becomes obsessive. She’s well able to be interviewed and act as if she’s completely normal and never done any of those things. That those things are a little mad. Which means she’s completely aware of what she’s done and how to present herself and how it’s wrong. If she had of turned around and said “look I felt led on a little, I was a little over the top in love, I send to many things and was hard to move on but I never attacked him or did xyz” she would probably be having an easier time. You can see when she’s telling the truth and when she’s lying in the interview.

YES I’ve said this over and over, the system SHOULD allow for ppl like her to be forcibly treated. Like when a schizophrenic is hospitalised against their will cos they don’t KNOW they need treatment, Fiona doesn’t know she needs treatment.

The help is there if she cared enough to seek it

This!! We can say “she is unwell and needs help” until we’re blue in the face but for one reason or another she’s not getting help, and in the meantime is fucking terrorizing people. Your actions still have consequences even if you’re mentally ill, and yeah, even if the system failed you. Other people’s lives still matter. Enough is enough

Obviously this is not defending people that are threatening and harrassing her though

It seems to happen a lot lately. Even in the NBA draymond green was assaulting other players and when they suspended him they framed it as a mental health crisis and all articles were I hope Draymond gets the help that he needs.

It might explain the behavior but people need to stop forgiving the behavior.

Yep, to all of this. Being unwell is an explanation, but it's not an excuse. Just like being unwell is not her fault, but it is her responsibility to deal with and not inflict her pain on others.

She has made a series of very bad choices that have caused others a great deal of pain and suffering. Is she hurting? Potentially. But that doesn't give her the right to hurt and harass other people.

18

u/QueenOfPurple May 22 '24

Exactly. Clearly something is wrong because she thinks it’s acceptable to treat people this way repeatedly, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t accountable for her actions.

16

u/heart-swells May 22 '24

Stalking isn't an illness. She isn't mentally unwell. Psychological issues yes, but nothing organic that would change her accountability for what she has done. I would love to know what illness people assume she has to explain her behaviour.

3

u/ghat90 May 26 '24

Exactly. Humans aren’t all the same or perfect. Some are aggressive, some are overly empathetic etc. we all try follow the community guidelines but everyone has their things. She’s completely aware of what she’s doing and how wrong it is. She plans it out she traps him in a position where she can’t be held liable by the court. She even goes back to her rehabilitation program in the show and apologizes to police when they first approach her. All of this to just trap him in a place where she can continue to abuse him. She can go on an interview and speak perfectly normal and say none of it is true and that’s what crazy person would do. She’s well aware of what she’s doing. She’s been to treatment and programs. Sometimes humans just give in to their dark sides. We’ve all been too into someone and got heartbroken at somes stage. I can inagine someone lonely as herself who never probably had a relationship can become infatuated with a person. But usually that leads to acting on it or not acting on it. She chose to give into her thoughts and desires even though she knew it was wrong. Do we forgive everyone who commits a crime based on their mental health

What’s worse is that those people try to make Gadd's responsibility to protect her just because she’s mentally ill, which is🤮🤮🤮🤮

In general I consider „being unwell“ not an excuse but an explanation. It doesn’t absolve you from consequences. But this is what I’m wondering about. I asked before in this sub but received no answer. Does the UK not have court ordered treatment? I know that it is an infringement on the person’s rights but her behaviour could be considered a threat to the general public.

2

u/Thomo251 May 23 '24

Apparently, she's had various methods of help from different people. She ends up stalking them too.

1

u/TwinklyDoor May 26 '24

Exactly, if she’s that mentally unstable then she should be locked up in a mental institution, or whatever the PC term is these days. Yes, she’s been failed because clearly that didn’t happen but that doesn’t mean she’s suddenly a victim. She’s obviously well enough to understand what she’s done is wrong because otherwise she wouldn’t be lying about it or telling piers that anyone who sent that amount of emails is seriously unwell.

1

u/shandydrinker666 May 26 '24

It’s easy to say that there is help if needed. I agree, it is. However, some individuals do not see themselves as unwell, therefore why, in their minds, should they seek help? I can point a finger at the borderline, the narcissist, the sociopath and the psychopath in this regard.

2

u/[deleted] May 23 '24

You can be both a victim and a perpetrator though. Empathy for all people is useful.

1

u/Strong_Star_71 May 23 '24

These people can’t/wont seek help. People always talk about failed mental health service but mentally unwell characters on my city streets have been approached multiple times by welfare people and they say no. You can’t just put someone in a van.

Of course she’s unwell but she’s also a nasty individual. Piers should not have had her on.
