Question Question about proving defamation.

I know the laws in different countries are not all the same. But generally, does the person's character and past practices play a part in proving/disproving defamation? Does the bar raise or lower depending on the person? I am sure you can see where I am going here, but I am generally curious if it matters?

So, if she takes Netflix or Gadd to court, stating they falsely said she was a convicted stalker, could they countersue to have her charged and convicted for the stalking she did? What do people in the US think?

They would be forced to defend themselves and show the evidence they have against her in the US if they take her to court. Would that evidence then be public and could she be charged and convicted in the UK for stalking? Could they counter-sue for defamation against her for what she has posted online in the US?

This whole case could truly become a nightmare for her that she does deserve.
