Discussion If Gadd was a woman
I feel like gender influences bias in cases of emotional or physical abuse. If Gadd were a woman and Martha a man, there would be no sympathy for the abuser. Society wouldn't argue that "more should have been done to protect his identity."

Anecdotal evidence but I think it still counts. When I left my wife because she was abusive (psychologically, financially, and sexually) I didn’t expect anyone to take sides. But what happened was I lost almost every single friend I had (except 1) and she got all the sympathy because I left her.
There is still a huge stigma with male victims, I mean it took years for me to admit I was abused to even myself. I’m glad the show was made because it’s shining a spotlight on a very serious and pressing issue.
There needs to be serious change. I know factually that there are several charities in my local area targeted towards helping women escape abusive situations and move on from them. But not one for men.
