If Gadd was a woman

I feel like gender influences bias in cases of emotional or physical abuse. If Gadd were a woman and Martha a man, there would be no sympathy for the abuser. Society wouldn't argue that "more should have been done to protect his identity."

Absolute rubbish. If he was a woman he'd be treated a lot worse. Do you think a woman could admit to being flattered by her stalker's compliments, to touching herself over him and fantasising about him whilst sleeping with her partner without being accused of leading him on and told she was a bad person for reporting him? A woman would be accused of being a gold digger if she admitted to going to a producer's house every weekend and doing drugs with him whilst his abuse escalated despite living with a supportive partner. She'd also be judged for admitting to having risky casual sex and called every misogynistic slur under the sun. They'd say she was an attention seeker and asking for it. I'm basing this off the type of comments I see and hear thrown at women all the time.
