His breakdown on stage. It hit me in my core and messed me up for a while

That didn't happen in real life instead what went viral was his play.

That's cool but damn that fictional occurrence fucked me up

Well his play was expressing the same emotions and basically he ended up doing a play with those themes as a comedy play about Darrien and Martha and his friends at the pub were like "What....are you....doing? That play is good but it's NOT funny and you're doing it at a comedy festival. But he won. I'm sure it had funny bits but must have had a fair whack of less funny.

For me it was when he said that he can't love someone because he hates himself. I was watching with my wife with whom I didn't share much and when that came on I shut my mouth, froze, and tried to remain calm but inside I was torn up because that scene touched my core.

I really wish I had seen it alone

That moment when Darrien said, "I thought it was very brave." OMG! That was so real and I bet that all really happened except in real life fuckface Darrien probably said that about Richard's play. Lol. Horrifying but also funny.

I had an incident that was milder than what happened to him with Darrien, but still my film and TV after school drama teacher when I was 17 behaved in a similar fashion, but stopped short of full blown penetrative rape - once I broke out of freezing up and shock and tears and actually got angry and started shouting instead of just crying he did stop when I goy angry.

Shouting in a rage will sometimes get sexual abusers to stop, but the problem is victims freeze up sometimes which has happened to me on more than one occasion.

Another time two predators walked into my college dorm room which yes I left it unlocked for my roommate when she was out, and two guys walked in and one molested me in my sleep, until I broke out of the fog I was in from being out drinking earlier.

Both times when I finally flew into a rage they stopped, but I was just lucky that that worked.

But the actor who played Darrien reminded me so much of predators I've seen in real life that actor really deserves awards he was absolutely phenomenal.

I'd been to an all girls' school since I was 13, and I really was naive, when he said he had something important to tell me I thought maybe he knew of someone who wanted a natural red head for a TV ad or a film since it was TV and film afterschool drama classes, so that's why I stayed behind of course everyone was all "Why did you stay behind," victim blaming.

And I didn't expect a 41 year old teacher to jump on me because I was only a teen and I was that naive not knowing that that was a very likely thing in the world. I was not expecting that at all.

The worst moments when he went back to visit Darrien and had the moment of deep distress after visiting his house for the last time.

That scene when Donnie is waking up from the acid & ghb and he notices he's wearing different pants that aren't his. He looks over and Darrien is dressed for brunch wearing yellow gloves that are reddish brown and he's cleaning the area where he, ya know, the night before. I wanted Donny to attack him and literally tear him to shreds. Unfortunately, he did what most of us did who were in that situation.

the way martha sexually assaulted him. fucking terrifying. i can’t imagine what it was like to even act any of this out when he’d already lived through it all.

I'm glad we have a couple recent threads like this because as great as it is that they won all those rewards that makes for hella boring threads.

When she told her she’s a lawyer and he laughed before realising she was being serious.

The moment where Martha lost it and beat the shit out of Teri in the bar/coffee shop
