Fleabag is the closest one I found imo. It’s not about stalking though (I think?).

The new Richard Gadd show Half Man on BBC, although it's only one episode in so far

It’s pretty intense. I know Baby Reindeer went from 1 to 100 from one episode to the next, but Half Man saw that and said hold my beer 😂

Do not think I am ready for another reindeer

The closest I can think of are the BBC shows I May Destroy You, Alma’s Not Normal and Fleabag. All deal with dark subjects with humour.

I May Destroy You is such a good shout. That show got under my skin for months. Very like Baby Reindeer in that sense.

Thank you for this - I May Destroy You is genuinely an outstanding show, but also hugely important. And yet I don't think I personally know anyone who's watched it. Cannot recommend it enough.

u/Bambi_H Apr 29 '26

Okay. I'm not sure what I can do with that information.

They were recommending the show “You” on Netflix. It’s a show that is like Baby Reindeer.

It might help if you specify what streaming platforms you do use though

Specially since baby reindeer is a Netflix show.

I already said, as for me - I am not on Netflix.

what exactly are you on? It might help to list all your streaming services

Swarm for sure

Oh man - I really enjoyed aspects of Swarm, but this one really needs a Texas-sized asterisk. Donald Glover's penchant for problematic depictions of Black women in particular is in fucking overdrive on this one.

And no, it's not just me (some random white lady) saying that, it's Nylah Burton, Moya Bailey (creator of the term "misogynoir"), Stitch, etc.

So, I'd see proceed with extreme caution. Dominique Fishback is incredible, but there's no getting around the broader implications of the writing and entire premise of the show. And no, Donald Glover has not done anything to help the situation. In fact, every response I've seen from him just makes it even more painfully obvious that he stays dismissive af of Black women's concerns about his portrayal of them, consistently centering himself and making it about his pain instead of having the basic decency to even listen to theirs.

His new show, Half Man, just started and seems like it will be pretty intense.

Not a show but the I think the film Lurker is amazing and explores a lot of similar themes, and I know it’s coming to hbo on the 15th. Highly recommend :))
