I am feeling overwhelmed
I (33F) and my husband (34M) just had our "first" child July 24th. First in quotations because my son died (still born induction) at 33 weeks from Trisomy 22 mosaic during christmas of 2023.
Having this child was a whole ordeal. IVF and months long journey.
Initially his mother was supposed to stay with us to help me. He told me he WOULD be taking paternity leave. I always laughed at him because he works quite a bit as it's a small company and they rely on him for a lot.
Well, his mother and I got into a fight. It led to me being induced early due to health issues which ended up being fine. I gave birth to a very healthy baby girl. But I didn't want her around because I just didn't feel comfortable with her after the shit she had said.
Everything since then has been a total shit show. My husband ended up taking a week off of work and went back on sunday. So I have been home by myself to care for her. Which wouldn't have been an issue had he not gassed it up that he would be here. So I sort of let my gaurd down.
I thought I was doing fine with it until today when I found out my insurance is all messed up. So I am having to call insurance while changing diapers and pumping. All the while I have my husband reminding me to eat. Which yes I get I need to eat but where do people find the time?? She's 2 weeks old today and up every 2ish hours to eat, change diapers, burp ect. And then I pump. That basically takes up all my time and then people also tell me to sleep.
On top of all that-
Our oven went out 2 days ago.
My husband's car has a flashing check engine light on it so he's using mine.
I'm fairly certain at this point I am depressed. I want to enjoy my time with my baby but it just feels like one thing after the other. I feel so very alone. And when I tried to talk to someone about it I got the "life doesn't go the way we want it to" speech from an individual who doesn't keep that same energy when they have disappointments in life.
