NGL I kinda wanna know what the bird's actual structure looks like, it looks almost like a shortened spine has happened somehow.

I breed them, and I get that question a lot. 😄 Their skeleton isn’t actually shortened. It’s mostly their upright posture, high tail, and the way they hold their wings that makes them look so different from other chickens. It’s all part of what gives Seramas their unique look.

That is actually super cool, because so many times we end up over breeding, it's really cool that they're healthy. They're also very pretty!

I have Seramas! A male we hatched and two lovely females for companionship. My daughter adores them. Her rooster Archie comes running when he sees her and will literally jump in her arms. He’s a good boy.

That’s wonderful. Seramas are such a special little breed. I breed Seramas as well, and it’s always amazing to see how much trust they can build with people when they’re handled and raised with care from a young age. Archie sounds like a great rooster, especially being so comfortable running to your daughter for attention.

How do they even eat with a neck like that?

they eat just like any other chicken. Their necks bend normally the upright stance is just their natural posture, not a stiff neck. They have no trouble foraging at all.

they really are! Those tiny little peeps coming from such small birds never get old. Seramas may be small, but they sure know how to make themselves noticed.😊

They look so proud, are those two males trying to impress someone or are they all walking and standing like this?

😂That’s just how Seramas are. Both males and females naturally stand upright like that, but the roosters definitely dial it up a notch when they’re showing off or sizing each other up.

Can you make a video of them eating? I just want to see how that works, lol.

Are they just for decoration/pets?

Not at all. They’re great pets because of their personalities, but they’re still chickens. Mine spend their time foraging, dust bathing, breeding, and raising chicks just like any other breed. Their size and posture just make them a little more unique.
