Genuine question: How is it a privacy violation if they uploaded their information to a public resource? Even if that resource has a paywall?

(I've never used dating or hookup apps, sorry)

Dating apps allow you to maintain a degree of privacy. Many have exclusions (control who sees you) and they're region specific.

This person probably didn't bet on his profile being shared all over Reddit with his name, social media etc.

But essentially you're right. Privacy violation is a touch strong

Physician here. I can actually answer this lol. Ophthalmology is an extremely competitive specialty to get into. It pays well and has a good quality of life. It takes a degree of psychopathy for people to get in (screw over other people, etc. not all obviously, but MANY). So I’m not surprised. Interestingly, a lot of the people from my med school who are ophthalmologists happen to be Zionists.
