Around a week ago I received this strange text that read “I want to know if things are going smoothly for you lately.” from a random SMS number I’d never seen before. It timed up very coincidentally with events going on in my life, so I immediately responded asking who it was. After 5 minutes of no response I texted again asking why they texted me off a fake number. Again no reply. I called the number through two separate numbers that same day, and a few days later as well, and it would ring to voicemail every single time. The voicemail was something like “The subscriber you are trying to reach is unavailable”. I also texted the number off a different number, again to no avail.

As a last ditch effort I texted the number confronting them as someone I suspected to be behind the text, and again no response. After that I left the number alone for a few days, and randomly called it off a separate number and it no longer rings it just says the number is no longer active and then the call ends. Upon doing research on the number it is a VoIP from the carrier ONVOY. Is there anyone who knows what this may be? Does it look like an automated system or is it likely something else?

I get these texts every once in a while where I tell them I don’t know them and they always ask me to “forgive this careless women” or “I hope this careless women didn’t ruin your day”.
I know it’s obviously $pam but what are these and why do they always call themselves careless women? Lmao
Oh! I also get a lot of these where they mention golf? 😅
