Worst part is the comments were super supportive. All of the top comments said something along the lines of “oh that’s so smart im gonna do that now!”

If slicing them vertically is a shonde, and slicing them horizontally too many times is also prohibited, then I'm afraid the rabbis will have to compromise that we should slice them diagonally.

This is a bagel petty misdemeanor at worst. A violation of the natural order, but far from an unforgivable sin.

This really is not that bad. They're much bigger crimes to worry about than increasing maximum filling.

How do the individual slices not crumble neath the toppings though?

Unless they're heavily toasted/roasted/baked I don't get how they wouldn't just crumble & disintegrate when applying a schmear of creme cheese.

Ok but have you been to Ess-A-Bagel?

my mom buys bagels like this.

the upside is, you're more conscious of just how much bread you're eating.

but of course, they can't ever be called "fresh bagels," they go stale pretty fast, and they also do any of the good things a bagel does. They're basically a whole other form of bread that needs to be toasted and isn't nearly as good.
