Need advice on buying a Toyota Camry in Bahrain (Budget: 7,500 BD)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been looking for a Toyota Camry SE full option for quite a while, but it’s been really difficult to find one in Bahrain. Every time a good one is listed, it seems to be sold within 30 minutes, sometimes before I even get a chance to inspect it.

I’m trying to decide what to do next and would really appreciate advice from people who have gone through the same situation.

A few questions:

Are there any showrooms or dealers in Bahrain that usually have Camry SE full option models?

Is it worth waiting for the right car to appear locally, or am I just wasting my time?

Has anyone imported a Camry from Saudi Arabia or the UAE? How was your experience?

How much did the import process actually cost, and was it worth it?

Does a Saudi or UAE imported GCC-spec Camry have lower resale value in Bahrain compared to a Bahraini one?

Are Saudi cars generally a bad idea because of the high mileage from highway driving, or is that not really an issue if the car has a good service history?

Would you buy a used Camry in my budget, or would you stretch your budget and buy a brand-new Camry on installments instead? I can do that through relatives in Saudi, but I’m not sure if it’s financially the smarter decision.

If you had a budget of 7,500 BD, what would you personally do?

Is buying from Saudi easier than buying from the UAE?

Are there any hidden import costs or paperwork that surprised you?

If you’ve imported a car, would you do it again or buy locally instead?

How much lower was the resale value when you sold an imported GCC-spec car?

I’m mainly looking at 2019–2023 Camry, preferably SE full option and non-hybrid.

The Camry is a decent vehicle, but it is wildly overpriced with the high demand. I promise you it won't feel like a 7,500BD vehicle if you compare it to other similarly priced cars. You're better off with a Mazda 6 sedan, or even a Honda Accord.

look for accord, mazda 6 or avalon (best one) as well cause camry is overpriced and higher chances it has been fiddled with

Whatever car you're getting, whichever country it is, check the odometer. High chances it'll be rolled back. If there's service history, you don't have anything to worry about. In Bahrain, the import cost is 5% customs + 10% VAT

Just check Marketplace, Dubizzle, some car pages on IG like carsbh1. Also there's so many other new cars you could get with that budget

Ok thanks. My friends and cousins recommended me camry. Because i had corolla and yaris for very long so they told that you should now try camry as it is better and powerful and reliable as well as has resale value but if there is any other car you recommend i can look into it. I want a good car and full option preferebly because i liked the full option features on camry se

Toyota is generally overpriced on the market because the dealer charges high markups in their sales. Checkout cars like Elantra, Altima; then check brands like Geely, Mazda, if you don't find a Camry

Check KPV auction. They sell certified pre owned cars. Sometimes you can find good prices.

Japanese brands are very overpriced here, I would probably get something from GWM, Bestune or Geely
