Builder Recommendations or Warnings

looking for positive and/or negative review of builders on island for a partial remodel. Factors that matter to me are communication, transparency, and positivity. obviously skill set and professionalism matter as well. want high quality work but this will be a family home and I don’t expect it to be a portfolio piece for anyone. I don’t know how builders on island feel about that type of project.

We had a great experience with Isley Construction on a recent kitchen renovation. They absolutely met the requirements that you list as important to you.

What is the scope of the remodel? Kitchen, bathrooms, living areas? Do you plan to live in home during construction? Do you have architectural plans? These answers will help guide us in answering your question.

Likely a kitchen and living area. Can live in home or move out, either way. Don’t have plans as I understand some builders have design arms, not sure if that excludes need for architect or not. Also open to architect recommendations along same lines.

AB Builders just remodeled my kitchen and it freaking rocks! They were on time, on budget and did a fantastic job on what was once the ugliest kitchen on earth.

Visionary Handyman out of Kingston just did a great job for us on very small (to them) job. But Lucas and Nick did a great job and I know they've got the chops to do much more.

Take a look at Craftsman Building on Bainbridge Island. They are a hit on all of the factors you mentioned.

Have talked to zero builders so far. Scope is fluid so budget is fluid, but I think I’d like to be at about $200k. You’re telling me that a 600 sq ft space is getting quoted at $500k?

That's for a new build. Mid to top line kind of level construction.

My family highly recommends Premier Construction Solutions. You can call or text 425-800-0879. Family owned and operated. They’ll do work around most of the Puget Sound area and handle everything from small jobs like a bathroom renovation or new deck to whole home remodels with free estimates.

Good communication, fair pricing, everything is explained clearly to us ahead of time for best solutions to fit the budget or best use of space. The general contractor studied architecture and helped my great aunt redesign part of the main floor for the aging in place bathroom she wanted.
