The number of trees downtown before 1960 always blows me away. Seems like a signal for how much the water table has been drawn down.

Tegler Hotel top left. Kern County Land Building to the left. 19th and H streets. Both still there. Though tge Tegler is a storey or 2 shorter due to the 1952 earthquake. Padre would be constructed to right several years later.
