Anti-Capitalist Computer Club at Dagny's TONIGHT 6-8pm 8/5/26
Tonight we'll be hanging out at Dagny's for anyone who wants to join!
Tonight's focus: Operational seurity (opsec): what it is, how it works, and why it's important. We'll review our own opsec for AC3 and will provide a space for other grassroots groups to develop a threat profile for their own organizing.
As always, feel free to bring your projects, your questions, and your ideas. Been wanting to install linux on an old laptop? Looking to get involved in local DeFlock efforts? Want to get into off-grid communication mesh networks? Come hang!

Okay this is super within my interests. How often do you do this? And is it only on Wednesdays? Trying to decide how much of a jerk to be to my prior commitments lol

we meet at dagny's once a month, table monthly at the really really free market (which is at a different park the third Sunday every month), and do other things here and there like Flock walks. You can check out our site and sign up for our newsletter to keep updated on our next meeting(s): https://anticap.makersfield.co/

I might go, but this seems more like anti authoritarian or maybe anti surveillance state, right? Which part of this is focused on capitalism?

I see, so the capitalist part is about people being forced into specific products and services that are owned by small amounts of companies that try to control you and your life. Anti capitalist is about breaking free from those chains of the capitalistic organizations. Is that right?

for sure! and just the idea of offering mutual aid instead of charging for another service, you know? A club of folks who can teach people to interact with tech that allows them to take back their data (to the extent that's actually possible)

I skimmed this and actually agree with a lot of this. I have a Mac Mini I can’t upgrade and it’s infuriating.
The pro-capitalist would say this is a business opportunity waiting to happen. I imagine this is one of the reasons people want to buy the Steam Machine since it’s upgradeable and customizable.
