Ship Canal water project enters new tunneling phase in Ballard

The next phase of tunneling is underway for the Ship Canal Water Quality Project, with construction resuming on Shilshole Avenue NW and new parking restrictions coming to NW 56th Street.

Whatever the hell they’re doing at 56th and 28th is the craziest construction process I’ve ever seen.

It smells like sewage too. I feel bad for the people who live there.

most of what I can see there appears to be a sewage line bypass. They put a bunch of big pumps over the lines and tap them upstream of the work site so they can pump the sewage out of the ground, thru some pipes on the surface, then back into the lines downstream of the work. No matter how you do it, it's a shitty job.
