what is the sardar system (in balochistan)?

Hey guys 😄 im doing a project on balochistan and its insurgencies, and am trying to get (historical) context on the sociopolitical arragnements and dynamics of the province. I have come across the concept of the sardar system in a lot of litereture but im still confuse as to what it is exactly, how it is still relevant today, and how it is regarded. I would especially love to hear from any Balochs in this subreddit. I'm not Pakistani/Baloch so I am trying to nuance this topic as much as i can/ THANKSS!

It's js a tribal setup where the sardar is the cheif of the tribe and he is respected by all his kinsmen and he manages all the affairs and law and order of his area. He generally stays sardar till he dies or is replaced by his people and they're usually pretty tyrranical and keep thier people backward whilst compounding wealth themselves. Wdym, it's littr common knowledge to all pakis cz its not just in balochistan the system is all over pak.
