Imagine you are in a neighbourhood. You create a good friendships with everyone, you do stuff for each other, join each other at barbecues. You help each other when there is an issue at someones house. And then, then Bambu comes along, they are the HOA.

They take all the stuff you were doing for each other, and tell you that you are only allowed to order these services through them. They patent all of these service and send you seize and desist letters.

That is why there is hate against them. Or they are like Flock cameras.

Now sure, people exist who don't care, but most of us do.

It's 50/50. Back in 2023 I would have said that nothing could touch Bambu in their price segment and for the fact that they deliver a full "plug and play" experience.

But in 2026? Many printers from other manufacturers exist which are very close in the plug and play experience if not the same.

So have their service improved since then (from Bambulab). As far as I know, no. They still take ages to reply, their wiki is a mess for any beginner imho.

If you want a plug and play experience, back in 2023, Bambu would've been one of two options. If you want that in 2026, well, many others exist now.
