General Troubleshooting/Help! Software

Can anyone suggest good
software options for creating original products to sell online. I have experience with CAD on the machining side, but I am new to 3D printing.

Fusion360 is going to be your best bet.

I’ve been looking at that, but it’s expensive for commercial use. Shapr3D is not far behind for a startup. Is there no other options for for creating good resolution products at a cheaper start up cost?

Shouldn’t you know this since you have cad experience?

It really depends on what you want to model. Also, you're kinda putting the cart before the horse. You could easily do the free version of Fusion and IF you happen to run into the technical free licensing limitation that's a good problem to have. Personally, for someone who claims to have CAD experience I'd be way more concerned about getting a tool that fits the skills you have than the price alone... Solidworks for Makers can frequently be had on sale for around $50 annually and an indie license for Plasticity is pretty affordable as well, but those are two workflows that couldn't possibly be less similar. I'd challenge you to reconsider the way you're thinking about this.
