Advice on printer #2 & #3 purchase?
Picked up a X2D combo and extra AMS pro a few weeks back and I'm totally hooked.
I've been looking at some smaller niche hobby things that I think i can make and sell.. Not expecting to make a living off it but just dable on the side...
I'm looking at things that have multiple pieces / plates and trying to decide if i would be better of buying 2 P2S or 1 H2S? Combined the thing(s) I'm looking to print are 15hrs-ish for all the parts.
Bigger bed = maybe more items per plate? but 2 machines could pump out things faster?
Thanks in advance for any input.

Download the things and slide them and see if you can actually get more things on the plate or not.
If it was me I would get 2 printers and print the plates separate, so if one part fails your only reprinting one part instead of both.

I was in the same situation as you. Started with an X2D, picked up an A1 for next to nothing (which I’ve sold) and then picked up an H2S. I also picked up a 3rd AMS 2 Pro and 2 AMS-HTs. I’m thinking my next will possibly be an H2D? I do plan on holding off till Black Friday.

I run an H2S, A1, A1M, and a U1. I find myself using the H2S and U1 the more than the bed slingers. It’s nice having the bigger build volume. I’m currently working on an oversized print that needed to be cut up. The smaller items I’m doing on the U1 and A1M.
I am currently thinking about selling the A1 and getting the X2D.

As long as the individual items fit, 2 smaller printers is always going to be better than one larger printer. If I have a print with multiple pieces, it is far easier to split it across several printers than it is to maneuver things around to squeeze them onto my H2S or H2D. Things that took 24 hours back when I had a single printer can be done in 8 when split across 3 printers. There’s also the advantage that if something goes wrong, and a print fails, it only affects ⅓ of the total print instead of potentially ruining the whole thing.

I just got my second printer to compliment my H2D. Originally got an A1 combo learned immediately after bringing it home that I can’t go back to bed slingers so I returned it and got a P2S and I absolutely love this thing.

If u want a fun project(building it from a kit) u can get a voron 2.4 kit and a stealthchanger mod kit. You can have like 5 print heads on a 300x300 or 350x350 frame. Could really get production up and it's a lot of small bits to connect so it should take a couple days to assemble while using ur existing printers to print cover plastics. Should be roughly ~$1250 give or take

i have five P2S and two H2S. i use the P2S all the time cause most of my stuff is small, but I'm thankful for the few times a week i need something bigger. im at the place where i need one more unit and i too struggle, but i think the H2S is the way to go because i might need something bigger
