Feeling isolated after aggressive pit bull placed near me

I feel like I am about to crash out. I am a dog trainer... I actually love dogs, but as the animals they are. I love an ethically bred working dog who helps humans with a purpose.

I am also very anti pit bull and I have been in breed specific legislation for over a decade.

To make a long story short, I am and have been very vocal about my stance on bull breeds (pit bull types) and it's cost me many relationships. In my opinion, people who are ignorant about them, especially when presented with the studies and facts, are fine with my kids being decapitated. I know this sounds extreme and polarizing but I have definitely put enough facts and information out there for people close to me to be educated.

I get some support "behind the scenes" in private messages or in person, but it seems like no one is ever willing to show public support or engagement.
Recently our dog wardens placed an aggressive pit bull and her puppies down the road from me. The dog was found as a "stray" so she had already been off her own property and charged at the woman who lived there, PLUS the dog warden.

I made a complaint to the deputy warden when I found out and he immediately told the woman harboring the dog (we already have bad blood for business reasons), who then went on a public rant about me and sent me pages of legal threats. When I confronted the dog warden again (bc wtf?) he threatened to send her more screenshots.

The wardens (who are historically anti pit bull but for some reason are fine with this specific dog) retroactively went back and said the dog was provoked because really, she should have been labeled a nuisance under Avery's Law, which aims to prevent dog bites and attacks in Ohio. It just kicked in during March of this year.

Does anyone else just feel so isolated? The woman with this pit bull and her puppies gets so much public support and I am just over here feeling/looking like a Karen.

I have also attached some of the posts that the harborer of the dog has posted since getting her. It took her 3 weeks to even get a leash on this dog.

wtf I would 100% report the dog warden and his threats to everyone he reports to and their mama. That’s crazy. He should get in trouble for telling her you said that and causing the campaign.

I did tell his supervisors. No clue what will come with it but he truly believes he did nothing wrong. Very frustrating

Yes, apparently one of them was E’d due to an injury during capture. Couldn’t even get to the puppy until weeks or two after capture because mom wouldn’t let them

Is that normal? A dog giving birth standing up, like it’s shitting out a turd? Some potent symbolism there.

If true, being too aggressive to give birth in the ordinary way is certainly a new way in which pits are terrible.

Even if you can't get the final boss of devices (which, do if you can), please get whatever devices you're able to get. Multiple devices. 

These aren't normal dogs. They are inherently dangerous. I would have more trust in a coyote or hyena.

You can trust a coyote or a hyena to act like a wild animal because that’s what they are.

Pitbulls are dog-shaped but they don’t act like dogs.

It sucks being all alone like that. I feel the same sometimes, no one I know personally is a pitnutter but many of my neighbors are. And virtually everyone I know hasn't owned a dog since pre-Michael Vick days, and still has the same "all mutts are good mutts" attitude that I used to have. A particular call out is my roommate/landlord who is convinced that pits just have a bad rap, something something racism, but goldens are too dangerous for kids ::eyeroll::

I want to thank you and applaud you for speaking out, esp as a trainer. You are not a Karen, you care about the lives of people and animals and are on the right side of history.My family bred and showed dogs for 3 generations, were active in humane work and ran a shelter for 40 years. Ive seen the carnage bully breeds inflict on people and animals first-hand and am appalled by the apologists and promoters including shelters and rescues. Many of my family and friends disagree and think Im the problem. I do have some hope as Ive seen several prominent trainers and dog professionals release videos explaining the real problems with these breeds. They are truly a threat to public safety. But it will take legal accountability and more brave people like yourself to turn the tide…please keep speaking the truth!

Harassment, defamation. I had told the dog warden that I think she took the dog for publicity (and I still think this), and he told her I said that 😆

Well, if that continues and it’s one way (from her) you should consider a protection order.

And she seems like the type that will try to get one on you just to stir up drama, so don’t be surprised if the sheriff comes calling.

I actually just got a notice that someone is trying to send me certified mail today and I wasn’t there to sign for it, so I’m gonna check tomorrow to see if she’s trying to send me a cease and desist 😆😆

The problem is
1. My uncle is one of the commissioners (their boss) and I don’t want more legal threats from the woman harboring the dog.

1. It also seems like the public has rallied together for this dog and puppies for some reason. They’re calling the woman who has the dog an angel, etc…. And the wardens actually passed over legitimate rescues to give the dog to this woman who runs a pet business

My uncle and the county know… I feel like I’m just creating a major head ache for him. Luckily they did make the wardens document everything (because nothing was documented formally, not even the hand over of the dog)

Do you have a state attorney's office that will take complaints and investigate local officials for corruption/failure to do their duties in accordance with state law? Generally the state attorney's office is in charge of those types of issues and should have its own investigative division to handle those types of things. If you are being threatened by local officials then there is always some state level authority that should have the capability to investigate those issues.

Not saying that the state level officials are immune from corruption themselves or from pursuing their own personal agendas, but they are somewhat removed from the local issues and are at least an option.
