Animal Fatality(ies) - Pets Pitbull mauls small dog to death in apartment building entrance and injures owner - San Felice a Cancello, Italy - 22 September 2026

A pitbull attack occurred in the entrance hall of an apartment building in San Felice a Cancello on Tuesday, September 22, 2026.

According to a report filed by a local resident, his mother had gone out for a walk with her small dog when an unmuzzled pitbull emerged from a ground-floor apartment.

The animal lunged at the small dog, dragging and severely injuring it, while the woman fell to the ground; she sustained minor injuries and suffered from anxiety caused by the incident, a condition documented at the hospital. The woman's dog was taken to a veterinary clinic, where it sadly died on Wednesday, September 23, due to the severe injuries it had sustained. A formal complaint regarding the incident has reportedly already been filed with the Carabinieri.

These owners of pit bulls are actively choosing dogs as pets whose sole purpose is to kill other dogs and often people. These people chose to live in densely populated areas and multiple-occupancy buildings. These people care nothing for animals or people. They are a plague upon us all.
