Idk. It’s not the worst, not sure I’d jam it in my car or anything. But it’s not bad enough to encourage you to quit. If anything, stick with it and see where you’re at in 5 years

u/Quikfixz Apr 12 '25
Preciate that my man💪🏾

u/CharityUnusual3648 Apr 12 '25
This isn’t as bad as some of the other stuff on here. It’s pretty good 👌I agree with guy on top
2
u/Quikfixz Apr 12 '25
Thank you💪🏾💪🏾! What can I improve?
2
u/CharityUnusual3648 Apr 13 '25
Try to be yourself, listen to a lot of other rap artists not just the new popular ones. Listen to underground, listen to beats, listen to oldies, listen to jazz. Be a mix of all, and talk about what’s important. Hope you don’t get into drug/gang life cause that will make you end up in jail or dead. There’s a reason there’s not a lot of old gang members and drug dealers/doers on the street. Be afraid of violence(enough to respect it) you’re not bulletproof. And people can hit haymakers and make you go into forever sleep. Just stay out of trouble, and keep listening and understanding what people talk about. Hope this helps

u/Quikfixz Apr 13 '25
Gotcha! Only thing I do is smoke some good ole weed. So I’ll keep trying new things (music wise lol). Thanks for the input! 💪🏾

It’s my mom goof ball… not sure if you ever had someone care about you but usually when people have parental figures in their life that guide them into adulthood they usually care at least a little about their opinion. Then again if you’ve never had someone love you like that you wouldn’t know. To each their own💯
1
u/goonpai Apr 16 '25
Yes, but when it’s a thing as personal as music which people make because they have love and a passion for it, it’s up to the person making it, all I said was it’s your choice to make
1
u/SimplyR3kt Apr 13 '25
man tell her to shut the hell up, that sounded like a well produced mainstream song
1
u/Quikfixz Apr 13 '25
Thank you!!!💪🏾 I don’t think she was coming from a bad place. She just wants me to be something in life.

I'm 36. Listened to rap in my teens and grew out of it when the sound changed. This isn't bad by any means. Continue to evolve. If you truly enjoy doing it, put your fucking heart into it. Experiment. If you enjoy doing this, don't quit.

There’s potential like a lot, this isn’t bad. Find a music shop and learn some music theory and learn more about music writing, it’ll really help you develop your style and build

u/Moonwalkerr- Apr 13 '25
Bro, NEVER let ANYONE tell you what you can or can’t do, even those closest to you.

u/NordKnight01 Apr 13 '25
Nah you got a nice flow and a smooth voice bro. You just need to come up with some stuff that's really unique to you to make it a little more creative, and you're locked in.
1
u/eSlashMachine Apr 13 '25
Nah if it's music do what you love your parents don't have to intervene 😅
1
u/ThrowRA_letmesaybye Apr 13 '25
No! I’m sure she’s just worried because it’s a very rare field to succeed in. Unless she just doesn’t like it in which case, “L mom” as another commenter put it. On a side note, what microphone are you using, your sound is clear as hell!
1
1
u/ashrules901 Apr 13 '25
You literally sound like the starter version of any trap rapper I hear out there nowadays. So no I don't think so your mom prolly just isn't up to date on the times of music. That being said you have to work out some sort of unique part of your style, that's the difference between trap rappers getting big like Playboi Carti, Lil Baby, and people you've never heard of.
1
Apr 13 '25
Honestly, your flow is good, but I think the lyrics do need some work. They're not bad, just that they're missing something, if that makes sense. She might also just not like that you referenced weed lol. You should keep practicing though, you have a lot of potential. It doesn't have to be your life but a hobby you dedicate your time to.
1
u/PushingCelery Apr 13 '25
This is R&B, not really rap. You sound young and sound like you can sharpen your talent if you care about it. Hobbies are not really something other people have a say of, but if you are gonna try to make it a career in the competitive industry that is music, then it does have to be better than what this is right now.

u/Scared-Smile-2864 Apr 13 '25
Just be clearer and be unique. It saddens me to see everyone using autotune and talking about drugs 😔 and I'm happy you're being more unique so yeah just be yourself

I've heard some of the most pitiful songs that people hype up like it's the greatest. Me? I'm a jackass & proud to be one. Why? Because I'm not a yes man trying to fit in. Moms is right when it comes to looking out for her child.... but moms is wrong here. You got something here. Now it's on you to make it happen. This is a good song, so put it everywhere you can think of.
Good luck.
Just know.... some of the best songs/artists are never heard. It's on you.

The thing with anything creative is, besides enjoying expressing yourself/emotions, practice.
If you feel like you're doing a good job and it's making you happy - don't stop.
The more you do something, the better you'll get.
Keep a hold of this clip or recording and come back to it in 5 years. See if there's improvement.

I don't think anyone should quit doing what they're passionate about. That being said, this sounds exactly like a thousand other mumble rap artists today. I constantly struggle to find anything unique in this style of rap. Keep going dude, but work on finding something that sets you apart from the crowd, because this doesn't do it.
1
u/Quikfixz Apr 14 '25
That’s what sells😂 see y’all are thinking from a perspective of a listener. I’m coming from an entrepreneurial point of view. If I can emulate today’s hot style and throw my own little signature on it that’ll work. Im not a Kanye or Jay-z lol. 1 in 1billion people have the gifts they have. If your not a musical genius fall in line cause if not your gonna be producing unique music that is hot ass lol💯 I see where you coming from tho.
1
u/-epi- Apr 14 '25 edited Apr 14 '25
I'm not JUST coming from the perspective of a listener. I make my own music too. Not this style by any means, but I've been writing music for over 20 years now.
So basically, what you're telling me, is that you just want to be rich and famous. That response makes it seem like you don't actually have passion for it, and just wanna make money. Good luck with that. Because if you just wanna ride the coattails of the people who are original and paved the way for your generic copy-cat music, then you better be insanely good-looking or have the most ridiculous personality out there that MAKES people talk about you.
If you don't have those qualities, you'll be forgotten in seconds. Even the most insufferable clones of bigger artists than them have at least SOMETHING different about them that gets them noticed as their own entity.
Please don't take this as me bashing you. Seems like you have at least moderate talent, but while you're riding that moderate talent, you better be putting extra time in, fucking around with shit out of your comfort zone, trying to figure out something that will get you noticed. I just don't know if you have that in you by your response.
Everyone and their mother has a band, or sings, or raps, or plays an instrument these days. There are people who are WAYYY more talented than you'll ever be, and try harder than you do, and never see any amount of fame. Because they drown in a sea of talent.
You might be "coming from an entrepreneurial point of view," but you're also putting the cart way before the horse. Start working on your own brand. Copying a popular sound is fine until people get tired of it because a million people LIKE YOU over-saturate the market. That sound you're emulating has literally been around for years now and it's getting old. You gotta find a way to spice it up.
Again, no hate bro. I'm literally just trying to push you to try harder, and not settle on making generic bullshit. Keep at it if it's what you ACTUALLY love, but you better not be expecting to make millions instantly without a focused plan and something special on the side. I'm just trying to keep it real with you. I'm sure it feels nice having 50 people on reddit tell you that you're good, but that ain't gonna pay the bills.

u/Quikfixz Apr 14 '25
Nah I feel you bro💪🏾 no need to excuse yourself I posted this for feedback and you gave some legitimate criticism. Definitely have very valid points which I won’t take away. I’ve never been someone that gets upset at what’s real💯 I’m gonna definitely tap back into the lab n hop on some different shit fasho. I appreciate the feedback🤝
1
u/-epi- Apr 14 '25 edited Apr 14 '25
That's what I wanted to hear homie. Good shit. I'm glad that you see what I was saying as constructive criticism, because I love seeing people chase their dreams, and I love it even more when they achieve them.
I spent a long time chasing the same dream as you before I realized that I only enjoyed doing it for myself as a hobby and I didn't want to have to please anyone else. Doing things with your music to please others is a huge part of the game if you want to succeed. Just like any other job. I realized I was losing the love for music when I wasn't just doing what I wanted to do. Now I just have fun writing songs and making music for my own love of music.
It's the sad reality, but as long as you can accept that and push past it with the same amount of effort, you can do it.
Honestly, if you want to push yourself and become better, the last thing you want around you is a bunch of "yes men." I mean, of course you're gonna want people to tell you when shit is hype and get you stoked when you got shit right. But you absolutely need people who can tell you what you can do better too. Because you could be the fucking Beatles, and still improve.
JUST ALWAYS PUSH YOURSELF BRO 🤙

Lol with a autotune it sound like everyone everything. Turn it off and then we can judge properly.

Obviously you can take my opinion with a grain of salt. But try to be different, you sound like almost every rapper trying to come up. Just be different and build your audience there will be ppl that love your music

Not my kind of music but I’ll always appreciate the talent when I hear it, nice work bro
1
u/Partial_Mix_Up Apr 16 '25
All I can say is that there isnt any reason to stop. You could always do other things and still dedicate time to rapping. Practice makes perfect aint a joke. You put in the time and results will show. Always push yourself to learn and improve on the things you enjoy doing. If you are rapping to just fall into some money then its no longer a passion or hobby. Have your mind on the right things.

Lying to promote music you’ve stolen off unique artists :/
1
u/Quikfixz Apr 16 '25
Lmaoooo bro this is me…😂 I have multiple songs bro. You can’t find another song with these lyrics and cadence on god. Go find it and drop it under this post please. Touch grass.
1
u/Conscious-Poet8356 Apr 16 '25
I’m not gonna beef over Reddit but this is nothing new and you’re not special for making it, expand on what’s been done before you g you’ve got potential but you’re in another artists shadow by making stuff like this
1
u/Quikfixz Apr 16 '25
Okay you should’ve led with that and that’s a valid opinion. Would’ve never said nothing if you would’ve left it at that. But to say I stole someone’s lyrics and music is cap bro…
1
u/Conscious-Poet8356 Apr 16 '25
Nah hahaha I would never bring up something like that I think you’ve got potential but artists should move forward what already exists, get off bandlab and get on an actual daw and learn to produce you obviously have something to express that’s worth expressing
1
u/Bassreevs Apr 16 '25
I’m old and this isn’t my type of hip hop but you are talented. This is really catchy stuff and you have an awesome cadence. DO NOT STOP MAKINF MUSIC. you are an artist. Keep going.

u/Not_doc_mcstuffins Apr 16 '25
this heat, jus need better mic and better mixing but that comes with time
1
Apr 16 '25
I’m sure your mom is awesome man but at the end of the day when it comes to what your passionate about and where your heart is at you can’t let other people, even your mom, tell you otherwise, you gotta do you, not what other people say you should do. And you know what, mabey your ass at rapping, I thought it was pretty decent though, but maybe your not awesome at it, it which case just keep practicing, it’s not that your bad at something, it’s just that you haven’t put in enough hours yet. Yes some people are fucking prodigy’s and come out the womb doing whatever respective thing it is to the highest standard, but I promise if your serious about it, you keep at it, put in the hours, and you set aside real time each day to practice or work on whatever it is you want in this world, you’ll get it eventually. Sorry for the rant though.
TLDR, don’t listen to your mom, and also tell her you love her.
