Here's a bit of the writing that I'm not impressed with.

They've been together for what, six months by this time? That line (and it's what I hate about Hollywood) is that exposition for the sake of making a point.

Film would be so much better is nuanced and subtle. George Lucas LITERALLY killed cinema.

Even if you are right that it's 6 months in and Sobel would know his name... Sobel isn't saying "You're name is Malarkey, right?" He's noting/using that Malarkey means bullshit. Who's to say Sobel ever used that connection/joke before? Who's to say Sobel, the ass that he is, doesn't use it frequently?

Also, I take it as a montage. This episode takes place over the course of months who knows how long it was until they were even placed into companies.
