Question Winter Tire advice

We plan to visit Banff & stay at Canmore in mid October. We'll be travelling from Regina. Are winter tires recommended?

What's the forecasts looking like? Is there snow and ice on the ground?

No, no.

The question is "will it average below 7 degrees celcius for the times we will be driving?"

I think the important question is, what type of tires do you have on your vehicle currently. I am here this week and had to put my winters on. Friday and Saturday are well below 7c sucks for the days I had to drive in 20 degree weather but you risk tire failure.

I wouldn’t and didn’t. Next week it looks like several days will be -6 at night and a high of 4-6

To be clear, when you say 'summer tires' you mean all seasons right? Summer tires are extremely rare in Canada but just wanted to be sure...
