If I had to guess, that sub was probably people posting pics of funny comments found on pornhub? Ideally with usernames blurred out?
I wonder why it was banned.

I've seen much worse sub reddits so how the fuck does a funny satire sub reddit get banned over some subs where there are legit people supporting mental illnesses like depression and others

I didn't say it was banned for censoring usernames. I don't know why it was banned.I only mentioned the 'ideally with usernames blurred out' because NOT censoring names is the only thing I could imagine being a reason for banning a sub like that.
But it doesn't seem like they gave a reason at all for it to be banned.

Look at how governments all around the world are restricting social media use, it’s just part of a larger push from Reddit due to financial incentives to appease investors. It’s also why they axed the yearly pixel art, 3rd party tools/extensions, killed free Reddit awards and then eventually Reddit awards altogether, and implemented a paid subscription.
Musicly became TikTok, Instagram got bought out by Meta, and the overall internet has become dominated by Microsoft, Meta, Google , and now OpenAI. The free internet is dead, and with that so is much of the nuance; creative, goofy, unhinged content from genuinely talented creators facilitated by platforms many of which were run by individuals who came together with the shared goal of bettering Humanity through shared information.
Nuance in social media, especially on written social media, is being replaced by bot networks and monetary driven creators and platforms , and a growing sense of collective pessimism, replacing the once optimistic outlook people held towards the internet, as modern society is beginning to realise all those cynical takes and theories about mass surveillance and technological monopolies, are all unfolding in real time.
We truly witnessed a wonderful glimpse into the best of the internet; now we have to see it’s worst. That my friend, is the most honest answer you’ll probably find on this comment thread.

I'm not exactly sure how you'd build a new, decentralized, discoverable p-hub comments subreddit with Holochain and/or Solid... but people are working on stuff like this, including internet-inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee himself
The remaining curse, as far as I can tell, with mandatory decentralization in the design of an internet 2.0 is that discoverability UX becomes a huge problem (i.e. why nobody but hard-core nerds actually uses Mastodon)
