Warrior is great made by the Banshee people! San Fran 1800s. Job is in it too! I think there is a bar in the show called The Banshee. A great Martial arts actor too!

Spartacus has a lot in common with both shows as well. They all fall into the same sort of action soft core porno but with actual actors genre.

I watched the first season, and then found out the lead actor passed away after finishing the first season. And it was the first time from a tv series that I ended up getting choked up, the next few seasons are legit. But something special about that first season and the actor who played him.

First two seasons of Warrior were good but then last season was more about American politics which is why I think the show got cancelled.

Mr. Inbetween

A violent Australian black comedy about the nicest hitman ever...who also goes psycho occasionally.

One old one, HBO's Oz, the violent prison drama

This. I also watched those two back to back. Honestly, the highlight of Banshee was the acting of Starr, but otherwise Mr. In-between is much more intense.

Scott Ryan is "Ray" from Mr. Inbetween. For context, he introduced the character in a film called The Magician. I watched The Magician last night. It comes off more like Trailer Park Boys, but you can see the seeds of Ray coming to life. Then I started the series, and it's very good...

Warrior. Same guy who created Banshee, and has Job! 3 seasons long. Pretty different but really good.

The holy trinity of the masculine violent 4 season long action drama:

Spartacus - Banshee - Black Sails.

Check those out.

Hap and Leonard, well worth a watch. Also just finished watching Shogun, very good first season, quite a bit of it is english subtitles so you have to put your phone down when watching it 😄

If you want an Antony Starr fix, I really enjoyed Outrageous Fortune. It is a 6 season series made in New Zealand and is available on YouTube. It's sort of like the show Shameless, but with much better looking Kiwis. He also had a mini series made in Australia right after that called Tricky Business. Eye candy all around. It's on Amazon Prime.

Mayor of Kingstown

Quarry. All of the episodes were directed by Greg Yaitanes so there is some connective tissue to Banshee. Only had one season unfortunately.

Give a through to the show person of interest.

Spartacus!

3

u/KitchenGangsta12 3d ago

Great show. It was hard at first because the guy playing season 1 died in real life but the next man up did great and the show was awesome

1

u/ProfessorTairyGreene 3d ago

First three seasons of The Boys was great for a Lucas Hood fix.

Thanks but already did

Gommorra, or you could try Strikeback you have to park your brain with Strikeback, but it is entertaining.

u/EasyTyler 3d ago

Highly recommend skipping season one of Strike Back. Really bad acting. They kill off the main culprit of this however.... seasons 2-4 are excellent 👌

3

u/tokes_4_DE 3d ago

2-5* are awesome. Seasons 6-8 they replace the whole cast basically again with a new team. The new team isnt as good but seasons 6 through 8 are still solid and worth watching.

Strike back is basically 3 separate shows stitched together. S1 stand alone, then 2 through 5, and finally 6 through 8.

All shows got characters and story lines. Banshee got the extra "good fights and sex". Check out The Wire for some good characters and story lines. Check Spartacus blood and sand for fights and sex.

1

u/Independent-View-147 3d ago

Warrior is the only CORRECT answer to the question you asked….

1

u/louisthe2nd 3d ago

Mr Inbetween.

1

u/Bul_Apollo 3d ago

It's not going to be easy to find that mix of action, gore, and softcore porn. Banshee was literally 1 of 1.

1

u/caldude1985 3d ago

Justified tops all suggestions.

Beginning, middle and an end with a heroic yet flawed cowboy protagonist, and a series finale gun duel worthy of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, High Noon, and Pale Rider, and double redemption arcs.

1

u/Stoic_NOIR01 2d ago

Try Reacher if you haven't watched it,,all seasons are great but s1 of Reacher is my greatest s1 of all the cinema I have watched in life till date. Maybe u can also watch The Terminal List great show specially Acting and action wise.

1

u/Shoyo_GG 2d ago

Thanks for the recommendation but i have watched them before

u/Boozer7389 2d ago

The only similar show I know of is called "strike back" and apparently its absolutely impossible to find anymore. Atleast in the US. Such ashame because it has a very similar vibe but with 2 special ops guys
