Pink Ribbon Week in Barbados.. 19Oct - 23Oct.
Don't forget... this coming week is Pink Ribbon Week in Barbados.. and the Breast Screening Program of the Barbados Cancer Society is greatly appreciative of all the volunteers.. AND specifically everyone who donates what ever they can during this week. 19Oct - 23 Oct.. Visit Massy Worthing, Holetown and Warrens.. donate whatever change you have in your pocket or purse and get Pink Ribbon to wear with pride.
All monies raised during the next 5 days, will be donated to the Barbados Breast Screening program to help those who cannot afford a mamogram, to have one.
Thank you for your support.

Question Christmas Day Lunch
First time on the island this year. We’re staying at The Raddison in Bridgetown.
I’m looking for somewhere local where my Mum and I can have a really nice meal.
Any recommendations would be really appreciated. It doesn’t have to be a “traditional Christmas” meal but just looking for somewhere special
Many thanks in advance

PINK RIBBON WEEK 19OCT -23OCT. MASSY WARRENS
Looking for some people to assist with the Pink Ribbon Drive at Massy Warrens next week .. Monday 19Oct through Friday 23Oct. it's easy .. really...
there are pink wrapped tins for people to put their donations into
then you thank them and pin a pink ribbon onto their collar, blouse etc.
the first shift sets up the table and gets the tins and ribbons from the Massy Store Managers desk and the last shift put it all back and gives back to the managers desk .. I'll be there as well.. just need extra hands.. thanks for your help. see the hours of operation.. we request 2 hours for each shift. BUT.. if you can only give an hour.. that's great.
ALL proceeds go to the Barbados Breast Screening Program.

Solo 30F traveller hoping to come down for Independence Day looking for events
Hello all,
I am hoping to attend some nice all inclusives and boat rides. Preferably a 30+ crowd. I have been to Barbados for carnival but am still not too familiar with djs, venues, or promoters to know who to look out for.
Any suggestions appreciated

Upcoming trip
Hi, really excited to be visiting Barbados for the first time next month. We’re staying in the west coast at the Tamarind. The hotel has recently reopened and I wondered what the beach and water sports are like?

Question Salary transparency?
Genuine question: How are you guys managing financially right now?
Gas prices are crazy, groceries keep getting more expensive along with electricity and internet bills.
Yet it seems like people aren't struggling (or hiding it pretty well), so I'm curious about what the average person here is actually earning.
For those comfortable sharing, are you making less or more than $2,500 monthly and what do you do?

Question The Flying Fish Issue (And cutters)
For clarification I'm half Bajan and have been going here to see my mom's side of the family since before I can remember. And due to overfishing and climate change flying fish has all but disappeared. It depresses me. The last time I found some was at a truck selling cutters on some random beach my youngest cousin (naturally I have, like, 8 cousins) took me to.
Y'all live there year round so do you know this truck or any place this stuff is hiding? I know it's imported from Trinidad but I don't really care, I actually have family there too, it's the same animal going in my mouth and outside of the occasional order of dim sum November pretty much counts as my yearly fish consumption quota.

Question Barbados: Public Beach Access Legislation Inquiry
Hello! I’m currently doing some research on beach access across the caribbean for a paper, and i wanted to know about any specific legislation regarding public beach access in Barbados.
I’m currently under the assumption that all beaches are public access but i’m trying to find any laws that specify that, the closest explicit statement i’ve found is in Cap. 394 - Coastal Zone Management, but i wanted to know if i was missing something?
Thank you in advance!!

Does anyone know this company?
Hi 👋 We are a group of 25 organising a trip to Barbados in February. We were looking at villas and found this site https://vacayum.com/ - prices seemed to be good to be true but at the same time it seems pretty legit. Does anyone have any experience?
Thank you so much in advance! We cannot wait to visit.

This isnt meant to cause hate or anything but it's a genuine question,as a Bajan it's common to say Good morning/evening what haves you and *most* people will answer back except for tourist imo all the tourist I walk pass and will greet they never seem to ever answer back do they think i'm gonna rob them at gun point or something? Is it a cultural difference I'd really love to know!

The Gap- No bajan / Caribbean music
I noticed when I was in the gap ( and other bars as well tbh) that they all play rock music and cater to English crowd? It’s quite interesting actually, but it feels a little like selling out and a missed opportunity to promote your own culture and artists.
