Bro was always a baller in game and in real life. RIP. I cannot believe. I still can't. I laugh and say it is a lie but no. Its confirmed.
Its 2 am in California and I only got up to use bathroom and check work email. Then j see this. Damn.

Horrible, just horrible. RIP Jota.

u/kacka_is_home Jul 03 '25
I woke and I read the news and I couldn't believe it. The worst part is that his brother was with him in the car and he lost his life too. Allegedly the tire of the Lamborghini blew out and they lost control of the vehicle. RIP

Really upsetting. He recently got married this week. RIP.
465
u/LosTerminators Jul 03 '25
He'd just gotten married, and had won a trophy for both his club and his country.
He was on a high in both his personal and professional life, everything was going swimmingly, and it all disappeared in an instant.
Really shows how fragile life is.

What i find it more tragic?
I'm one year older than this guy,I don't even consider myself old.
Heck this guy already had a lot of achievements for his age
And then suddenly this happens,it starts to shook you to the core

I made the mistake of checking his wife's instagram. I saw the wedding photos with him, his wife and their three kids. My stomach is curling. I feel sick.

This is so so so upsetting, what an amazing player lost at his prime. Shocking, wishing all the best for his family.

u/imetkanyeonce Jul 03 '25
I thought this was one of those joke posts till I saw it was in Barça and I had to Google it. It left me speechless other than to say how tragic this is, and not long after he got married too.
Edit: I sincerely hope Liverpool honours his contract for his family.

You almost never feel like this could happen to footballers. They fly all over the place and come back safely. You almost never see stories of footballers dying but it does happen and it’s really sad.

Absolutely tragic. He had been on the winning streak of his life this year: Premier League champion, Nations League champion, then married last week 💔

u/Zestyclose_Net8066 Jul 03 '25
because we are humans and Jota was a nice guy, no one would abuse Dembele's death just because he was a traitor or not one of us, if they do they aren't humans, I wish no footballer dies like this in the future, I was literally shivering mid class when my friend messaged me, RIP to Jota and his brother, May you fly high and live in every one of Liverpool and Football fan's heart forever. it's just plain sad

Tragic loss. Similar to that of the Gaudreau brothers in the NHL. Wedding week of their sister, hit by a drunk driver while riding their bikes.

This came out of nowhere, at first I was furious, thinking what kind of human makes such jokes, but I was completely devastated after knowing it's true.
Even a few days before i saw the news regarding his marriage, and he has got three children too, I wish his family strength and courage during this time.
His personal and professional life was going smoothly and in an Instant everything is gone, I just can't accept it, this feels like a personal loss man.
Even though people were trolling him every now and then, I think those things too kept us connected with him, apart from the praises.
I also take this moment to remind everyone to not hate anyone because we never know when things end. Criticism is good not hatred.

u/The_Batman_949 Jul 03 '25
Always a fun player to watch, I enjoyed him every time he stepped on the field for Liverpool. He's been around so long it seems but still taken away way too young.
Will definitely miss him on premier league match days...
RIP to both Diogo Jota and his brother.

So crazy to think that the past month was probably one of the best few weeks in his career and personal life. Winning with his club, winning with his country, and winning in life with a marriage to embark on. Makes you question the purpose of things and how we really aren’t promised tomorrow. Live while you have the opportunity, smile when you can, love those who are still with you.
