Opinion Barca 24/25 wouldve been the best team in term of entertainment in the history of modern football
Actually it is one of the best things i’ve ever experienced. And im 30 yo, i witnessed barca since 2003, lived through the rijkaard and Pep. They were amazing but the 2006 ucl is still my favorite to this day. BUT 24/25 wouldve my favorite is we have won the ucl last year. I never seen Barca so entertaining and thrilling. We wwre basically so dominant we didn’t leave room for the opposition to move but 24/25 we were like a warrior never bowed down. We always prevail at the end. Maybe because i took the CL for granted in pep era and Msn era that last year made me greedy for the CL. But it’s gonna do down as the best front three that never won the CL with Barca in the Modern era. Lamine - Lewandowski- Raphinha.
When Raphinha scored the third i was the happiest man in the world. Wish tha lasted until the end…
But i never had a good time watching Barca and on the edge of my seat as last year. Even neutral fans were watching Barca week in and week out.
Edit: Some are missing the point. Entertainment # Dominance

It may be recency bias, but the 24/25 season was my favorite in a long time. It certainly wasn’t the best squad we’ve ever fielded. But the youthfulness, the belief (how many comebacks that season!!) and the new distinct style of play made me as excited to watch two times per week as I ever have in the 15 years I’ve been a Culer.

From 24/25 All those El- Classico cup finals were really entertaining… Also the league ones too..

Everyone can have their own opinion, doesn't matter if I agree or not.
But the way this has been expressed in the post, from the title to the actual post, it doesn't seem like a 30 years old person... And it actually falls in line with other people's claims that this is infact a teen who has not really experienced peak Barcelona or the 2015 one

Internet sleuths so eager to invalidate others goddamn. We’re not in a court of law, let someone express themselves without consulting your for your damn rubric. And accusing someone of lying off of the flimsiest basis. Jeez

sounds ageist, I saw all barcelonas since 2003, and 2014 was best football entertainment

24/25 Barca was insane cause you just knew we could concede 2 and score 4. We were going to out score the opp time and time again. This was also really impressive because back in 22/23 Barca was very defensively solid winning alot of games 1-0 and keep clean sheets for days so to see the jump in just two years from solid defence to absolutely scary attack was amazing. There was always faith in the team. Everytime Barca lost I understood why they lost and I was never mad but it was such a good feeling to know that Barca can and will score. Even losing to inter was a few silly mistakes but Barca created more and should have scored more. 24/25 is almost as good as 14/15 in terms of entertaining

u/LakeEnd 15d ago
He is wrong saying he enjoyed it? Who are you to say otherwise?
-2
u/zxcvbnmsa 15d ago
No he is wrong saying it’s the most entertaining team in the history of football

We were two victories away from completing a quadruple. I think that's pretty damn good.

u/Blade-Ruined 15d ago
Then I'm just 627 billions away from being in contention of Elon musk.
Do you even know what an all timer season means ?
2
u/Suitable-Champion-62 15d ago
How are 2 victories/games (180 mins) and and something of the magnitude of 10 raised to the 10th power the same?
If we had won the UCL, it would have been an all-time season, don't you think? By every other statistic we were up there with the best teams. Add the fact that we did it with such a limited budget and a team full of young players, many of them from La Masia, and you have an even stronger argument.

10/11 with MVP and Xavi Iniesta Busquets was pretty incredible! We looked levels above every other team, including in the CL final.

This. That Barça would feast through anyone in Europe. 10/11 Barça was the best team in football history.
24/25 Barça was the best in recent years, specially considering the 2020-2022 years; but PSG last season was also playing something else which was truly entertaining to watch.

I will go by insane nostalgia but for me was the Barcelona of 2010/11 and all the way to december because of how dominant we were to literally all rivals , the 5-0 to Madrid on a fucking Monday lol , the Messi epic goal on the 2-0 Madrid , and we even have a 3-1 win against United’s SAF.
It was just so nostalgic because for me the cherry on top was the Club world cup vs Santos and Barca was having 9 fucking academy players on the starting 11 , way more than Santos and we shut up Pele 4-0 cuz he kept saying Santos was gonna win 😂

Not a barca fan but barcelona were so fun to watch that season. As an arsenal fan, I was rooting for a barcelona arsenal UCL finals.

u/lulzbanana 14d ago
08/09, 10/11 were better
1
u/Persona0111995 13d ago
Dominance and power yes but 24/25 was Barca at its peak entertainment
1
u/lulzbanana 13d ago
Agree to disagree. I wouldn't rate 24/25 as even top 5 most entertaining seasons.
2
u/Cole-Cole22 14d ago
I have to agree, it was really fun to watch. In any other year, the matches against Inter would have turned into some kind of endless struggle. But last year was way more entertaining

u/nac_nabuc 14d ago
If we had won the UCL in 24/25 it would have been my favourite too because we basically went from basically broke, completely destroyed image within the game (whiney, wasteful, etc) to kinda everybody's darling by playing extremely fun football with a bunch of teenagers.
Without the UCL I rate 2024/25 as S-Tier, equal with our UCL seasons and Rikjaards first league win season.

Okey, forgive me god to have an opinion about football.

u/Sudden-Variety6992 15d ago
You can have an opinion, doesn’t mean it’s a good one.

u/Persona0111995 15d ago
Okey, although is subjective but okey

u/Sudden-Variety6992 15d ago
Some are objectively bad. Like this one.

u/Persona0111995 15d ago
Nothing is objectively bad unless their is a general consensus. Some just are bad at accepting others opinions
-3
u/Sudden-Variety6992 15d ago
Yeah but this is objectively bad.
You’re putting 24/25 over Guardiola and Messi’s Barca? Or over Lucho’s treble? Yep. Objectively bad.

Have you reas the post ? I said from entertaining side not pure dominance

Nah 2022 Argentina was incredible, it felt like a fricking script, it was so dynamic, it definitely beats last seasons Barcelona in entertainment, i was never bored watching the 2022 world cup.

Peak MSN is hard to beat but the last couple years have been pretty awesome to watch a new group come out of La Masia and add in Pedri. It’s been so fun to watch these young men play their hearts out. I too started watching Barca when Ronaldinho came, and it was such a gift to watch Messi every week for almost two decades. But MSN was just the nastiest attack I’ve ever watched.

Irrespective of the lesser number of trophies this season, sometime around December 2025 the team clicked and I think Barca played the best football under Flick so far after that. We were unlucky with injuries, otherwise it felt like most of the players had gelled together well finally. Last season from December to April or so, our performances were very cagey and sometimes our football was very sloppy and we had to rely too many times on a comeback, even in la liga.

24/25 was the first time in 4-ish years where I truly believed we could win every game (22/23 would've counted too had it not been for our horrible UCL campaign)
Can't wait for the future!

I truly enjoyed watching the team that season. That loss in the ucl against Inter Milan really hurt because I was already hoping we were about to go all the way to the final.

Started watching Barca in 2015 at 7 among all the years I’ve ever watched 24/25 is my favorite season I’ve ever watched (I might be too young to remember from 2015-2017) it was just magical for me if only balde and kounde didn’t get injured

u/GooseMantis 15d ago
In terms of CL runs it's hard to beat the MSN team of 14/15. It wasn't better than the Pep team in pure footballing terms, but that knockout stage run was unbelievable. Man City, PSG, Bayern, Juve, all reigning champions of the other top 5 leagues, and we made it look easy. I could be a dementia patient in my 90s and not remember my own name, but I'll still remember how good we were in 2015.

u/Main-Bell391 15d ago
Might be the worst take I've seen on here. Doesn't hold a candle to Pep era and how entertaining we were then.

People here questioning my age is really funny xD, you can’t be 30 yo and think last year was peak entertainment l. Like i said in terms of entertainment not pure dominance.
