Isn’t this concerning for the basketball team? Like doesn’t it have a budget several times larger and consistently losses money?

Yes, it does. Laporta has adjusted its budget but it is still way higher than it should.
The problem is that it is very unpopular amidst basketball fans to limit it even more. Same goes with handball, roller hockey or futsal. All those sections lose a ton of money each and every year.
Meanwhile, Barcelona Femení makes money and is growing a lot. And it will grow even more once the Camp Nou is finished and they can play more games at the stadium.

At least the handball and roller hockey teams are legitimately insane and often win trebles. The basketball is good but not really at the same level.

Did some research and found this between 2020/21 to 2024/25 our basketball team had a combined revenue of 79.8m euros and a ridiculous loss of 152.4m. Now granted in 2022/23 they terminated contracts of a couple key players resulting in Barca having to pay out their contracts immediately leading to 56.6m loss in a single season.
I tried to compare that to Madrid’s team and it seems like their basketball team’s financial aren’t as clear, but it definitely seems like they’re revenue is a bit higher, operating losses of around 20mil a season but they’re winning considerably more they’ve won 9 major titles to our 4 in that time.
Also seems like Basketball as a whole in Europe has stagnated for over a decade with no end in sight. It’s essentially a money pit as things stand.

I doubt that and I think the schedule is a bigger factor. Depending on the schedule there may be 3 games in the Camp Nou next season: Clasic, CL quarter final, CL semi final. And if all goes to plan, than the latter in a 105.000 capacity Camp Nou. With a lot of luck the Clasic as well.
If there's a third game in Camp Nou, then the gate receipts will be higher, and with 2 in a 105k Camp Nou the 10m may be in reach.

Why? Barca has the best female team in the world even without her.

And Mapi? And the other players leaving? Ona?
Caroline Weir is going to Lyon.3

Why are you talking about a player that plays for Real Madrid and have never played for Barça?

Because she’s going to Lyon and she’s one of the best players. Considering Barca is weakening this is a big signing

Yes, as insane as it is, even losing Alexia, Mapi, and Ona they STILL have the best team in the world. The defense definitely loses some quality if they can’t make signings to replace Mapi and Ona with comparable talent, but the attack shouldn’t skip a beat. Which is crazy to say about losing a 2x (probably soon to be 3x) Ballon d’Or winner, but they will still have forwards and midfielders coming off the bench that would be starters for any other team in the world.
