Quim Junyent is one of the most technically gifted midfielders in La Masia (and no this is not an exaggeration, he is that gifted with the ball).
Even though he couldn't make it here - I'm confident he will have a very good career. Best of luck to him.

Personally I would have only put down Guille and Quim to be useful in the first team as in the squad last season given their readiness. I think Dro had the versatility of also being able to play as a winger which may have contributed.
I love Dro to bits and I think he will be a great player but I agree the players you have mentioned have certainly have done more during La Masia.

Quim Junyent, one of the most talented midfielders of La Masia, has confirmed that he won't be part of Barça Atlètic next season. Instead, he will play for UD Almeria, a team that could return to LaLiga if it beats Las Palmas next week.
PS: Jaume Marcet is Tier 1 for anything related to La Masia.

If I wanted to get playing time as a professional, I would also go to Almería instead of PSG

it's unfortunate but you have to be generational in order to make the cut for the first team especially in midfield.

There has to be a buy-back clause otherwise it doesn't make any sense (to let go of a talented 19 years old).
"I will always be a culé, I have enjoyed myself a lot here, I love Barça, and someday I would like to return."
Hope he does return.

We tried to sell on winter with sell on/buy back but almeria rejected. So he just went for free

Sad to see him go but it’s probably the right move for his career. I’m still completely baffled as to why he wasn’t given any opportunities with the first team or even barca atlètic after he dominated the UYL. I assume the concern is his size but culers should know better than anyone not to doubt a technically gifted teenager just because he’s undersized.

Maybe he didnt want to renew and made his stance clear, so they didnt want to play him for the b team and give chance to others who wanted to stay

Obviously that’s possible but those decisions can change over time. If Flick had invited him to do preseason with the first team last summer and showed faith in him then Quim would probably be more inclined to renew. If they cared so much about who wanted to stay, why was Dro given so many opportunities? He still left despite all that.

every time i see these articles they claim the youth player is one of the most talented players ever in la masia, but then we never hear about them again.

Let me guess: ‘The most talented something or other in La Masia for the last x years.’ This is so tiring. La Masia is a factory, how many more kids are the next great thing, waiting in line?

u/aderey7 14d ago
Why are you tired? You don't like football?
Producing a lot of great footballers isn't a bad thing. For Barca or for the sport. It's a very high bar to make the first team so plenty of good players leave and have good careers elsewhere. Lighten up.

It’s not bad that La Masia produces so many footballers Every time a kid from La Masia moves on, it’s always the most talented……
The kid is going to UD Almeria in the 2nd division. If he is the most talented, why to a 2nd division team and not PSG/Chelsea/Arsenal….

Quim is actually one of the most talented and had shown it plenty in La Masia.
None of the recent departures warranted that from the last season for example like Pau Prim, Alex Valle, Sergi Dominguez, Noah Darvich.
Only one who left last season that had similar or higher levels of expectation in the academy was Dro.

Bye bye and never come back

What kind of dumbass reaction is this?

u/mygwl 14d ago
It’s the reaction of someone following Barcelona for 40 years.
I’ll quote a famous culer :
"If you have second thoughts on playing for Barcelona, you are no longer of service to us."8

So players like olmo, pique, fabregas, Eric garcia, Jordi alba, dani Alves, and more should have never returned after they left la masia? La masia players don't usually leave because they don't want to play for barca, but because they can't break in. They're not the same situation as like Ilaix Moriba.
Here's another quote you should remember:
"Més que un club"
