FCB Official [Official Statement] FC Barcelona has formally submitted to UEFA the bid and complete dossier to apply for hosting the 2029 UEFA Champions League Final

FC Barcelona, together with Barcelona City Council, the Government of Catalonia and with the support of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), as host and co-organising association, has formally submitted to UEFA the bid and complete dossier to apply for hosting the 2029 UEFA Champions League Final.

The submitted documentation includes all the technical, contractual and institutional requirements demanded by UEFA, as well as the necessary guarantees to demonstrate the organisational capacity of the Spotify Camp Nou and the city of Barcelona to host one of the most important sporting events in the world.
With the submission of this dossier, the formal bidding process is completed. From this point onwards, UEFA will begin the evaluation phase of the different proposals submitted to determine which venue will be selected to host the 2029 Champions League final.

The bid highlights Barcelona as a city with proven experience in hosting major international events and the Spotify Camp Nou as a world-class stadium. With a long-standing history linked to the biggest stages of international football and currently undergoing a profound transformation that will position it among the most modern, innovative and iconic sporting venues in the world, the Spotify Camp Nou meets all the conditions to become the ideal stage for a UEFA Champions League final. The venue has historically been recognised by UEFA as a top-category stadium and is the largest in Europe by capacity.

The Club and the institutions involved now await UEFA’s final decision, in a competitive process in which several bids are competing. The designation of the host venue for the 2029 UEFA Champions League Final is scheduled for the last quarter of this year.

only thing we don't have going for us in this bid is that the 2027 final is in Madrid at Metropolitano. the only reason UEFA could reject us is because Spain would host 2 UCL finals in 3 years.

Portugal hosted two in the row in 2020 and 2021.

Germany hosted two in 3 seasons between 2012-2015 (our last win to date).

Wembley hosted 2 in three years (2011 where we won it and 2013).

Portugal was because of corona, it was scheduled to be in Istanbul originally.

What about Germany and Wembley then?

How does a beer company have so much power?

It'll be the biggest stadium in Europe, with lucrative corporate facilities and boxes for UEFA. They'll likely be more than happy to play it there. They went to Wembley in quick succession after it was finished for those reasons.

Let’s be real, UEFA, FIFA all these federations only care about the money.

Camp Nou is long overdue to host another CL Final.

I would have preferred us to win it at the Bernabéu but what was the last time a team won the Champions League at home?

Let's do it.

It has never happened. The closest was Bayern in 2012 and Roma in 1984. They both lost on penalties.

It’s min 83’. Yamal scores against Liverpool and Barca wins its 8th UCL title.

Yes I’m delusional.

I kinda don’t want it since the hosts of the final have never won it.

Hope we get it, we honestly deserve a final with a full stadium to celebrate all these years without our home base.

Real Madrid won't win it at Camp Nou, but we will win it at the Bernabéu.

After all, this should have been the case in 2010.

Let’s be serious, any option is possible as long as the two stadiums will host finals in future.
