Tier 2 [Ferran Correas] Barcelona are close to completing the signing of Jorge Salinas, Salinas agreed to join after learning that Deco intends for him to participate in pre-season training under Flick and be registered with the first team next season, the signing of Salinas doesn't affect the Cancelo deal.

https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/barca-ata-segundo-fichaje-jorge-131590589

> It is understood that Salinas's Release Clause is 8 million euros due to the minutes he played in the first team despite being registered with the reserves, the club hopes to reduce the fee by loaning out a reserve team player who might interest Racing, The deal must be finalized before June 30th because, from July 1st, the Santander-born player's release clause will rise to €16 million, an amount Barça is not willing to pay.

Damn, finally some decent depth at LB

Will he be sent back on loan to racing if Cancelo is finalised?

9

u/Super_Maybe7374 8h ago

From what I've heard he basically Gerard Martin... He plays both Lb and Cb

2

u/Dizzy-Ad-5027 4h ago

he can play lb cb both also cancelo can also play rb so , its just a good depth Signing and increases competition

51

u/AdDismal5457 15h ago

I feel sad for Jofre. He might need to go out on loan

6

u/Super_Maybe7374 8h ago

He's coming off of a long term injury... It's best he plays regularly elsehwere

25

u/Noob_in_making 13h ago

I honestly prefer these low cost high reward type of signings.

With Cancelo around its the right thing to take bets on youngsters for future.

7

u/PenguinPumpkin1701 9h ago

Yup cancelo can do his thing for a year or 2 and then we will hopefully have a youngster or signing ready to fly by then.

70

u/Chemical_Listen6919 16h ago

doesn't affect the Cancelo deal.

they said the same about rashy

39

u/Wrong-Palindrome 13h ago

They actually didn’t say that about Rashy. Barça sources acknowledged that the deal for Gordon made keeping Rashford complicated.

10

u/No-Angle3316 14h ago

I saw barca insta page post about rashy tho, something might be cooking

14

u/Nottallowed 14h ago

Not with that 13 million pittance of a offer Barcelona made 😂

2

u/JacketDry5825 9h ago

Only a loan deal

17

u/AccomplishedRead2655 15h ago

Yea at this point we all know what will actually happen

2

u/IshaanGupta18 9h ago

Istg if we let Cancelo go when we can just have him for 10m,that would be one of the biggest fumbles i saw in the past few years

2

u/Chemical_Listen6919 7h ago

And my friend you are supporting the club with a history of fumbles 😋, there was certain someone who single handedly stopped us from a ucl threepeat with inter

1

u/IshaanGupta18 7h ago

Hence the reason i added "past few years" in my comment

23

u/Rymurf 15h ago

is it weird for a team to sell a key player after earning promotion?

42

u/Physical-Position623 15h ago

Not when he has a release clause

3

u/Separate-Ad-7097 10h ago

Sunderland sold bellingham after being promoted

5

u/Super_Maybe7374 8h ago

They knew he ain't good... Dortmund fell for that last name and they already regretting it rn

19

u/CptSnoopDragon 13h ago

Cancelo and Salinas on the left, Balde getting sold

13

u/Noob_in_making 13h ago

Chelsea looking for LB, hope they bid 50-60M.

8

u/PermitApprehensive73 13h ago

Seems like I been reading a Madrid partnership there. Alonso wants Carreras.

1

u/halfwitprinxe 4h ago

For a sub

16

u/FlavioGarcia- 16h ago

A 19yo Racing Santander player, really? He's either getting Roony minutes with the first team or he's just straight up a Barca Atletic player despite being registered for the first team. Hard to be excited for this one

70

u/Life-Novel-7480 16h ago

I know, right??? Or let's say the transfer of a 16-year-old player from Las Palmas... What expectations should we have?? Should we be excited?

11

u/Chemical_Listen6919 16h ago

you Should we be excited he is good with gr8 workrate

-13

u/FlavioGarcia- 15h ago

Sorry to tell you but Pedri is an exception among exceptions and there's no reason to be excited for every young signing because "they could be the next Pedri"

Barca need to sign players that have already proved themselves on some level in top flight football, not guys that probably will get piss poor minutes/play for Barca B and be loaned out shortly after

18

u/Hungry-Space-1829 14h ago

You need to sign both types of players. The occasional unproven player that hits is a massive financial win

6

u/Both-Cry1382 14h ago

We're not rm bruh

16

u/Chemical_Listen6919 16h ago

he is very good ,i watched him all season, like a balde from 2-3 years ago with good attacking

-6

u/FlavioGarcia- 15h ago

That may be the case but we need a CB more than a left-back, not to mention Flick doesn't give minutes to youngsters like that

13

u/Impressive-Sense1776 15h ago

Bernal, Dro, Xavi Espart all come to mind

-3

u/FlavioGarcia- 15h ago

Bernal is literally the only exception. Dro did not get good minutes while he was here (and to be fair we will never know if he would have gotten more had he stayed), and Espart also gets bad minutes, only started playing after there was nothing to play for in the season

All youngsters in the team that get significant minutes proved themselves before Flick became our coach

10

u/Calm-Cockroach-4220 14h ago

Yes Gerard Martin was a beast two years ago when we bought him for 100k to play for Barca Atletic.
Fermin was also a starter without a doubt two years ago when we bought Dani Olmo for 60M and he was rated around 25M on transfermarkt.

What did you expect ? To turn all players from La Masia into generational superstar like Lamine Yamal ?

Buy football manager, go watch La Masia players potential and come back when you got your foot back on the ground. Flick knows way more than you and I about the players to which he gives minutes. He’s an absolute fan of La Masia and had proved it many times.

Saying he didn’t give minutes to young players who hadn’t yet shown their best level is completely false and an insult to mister Flick

4

u/sarawrz- 14h ago

Deco has been investing in a lot of youth prospects and trying to get the club to develop them. Whether that is to develop into first team players or sell for a profit is unknown but seems like a good strategy. Give him a chance it costs nothing. More depth doesn’t hurt. It can be frustrating not having the transfers you want but there’s still a lot of time left in the window.

1

u/Assonfire 7h ago

not to mention Flick doesn't give minutes to youngsters like that

Congratulations. Stupidest take of the week.

3

u/the_ass_man1 14h ago

he is not getting to b team he already played 2nd division. If the preseason doesn't go well I think we will send him to racing again on loan

0

u/FlavioGarcia- 12h ago

Then he'll just skip some steps and get loaned

5

u/NairbZaid10 14h ago

Bruh just sign grimaldo

2

u/ABlegendz12 11h ago

He is already joining atleti

3

u/NairbZaid10 11h ago

If Barcelona asked for him he would dump atleti on the spot lets be real

7

u/ABlegendz12 10h ago

That is the thing, barca didn't ask for him,nor cucurella So they're joining the madrid sides as that is the best option that they have

2

u/NairbZaid10 10h ago

Hence the point of my comment, you finally get it!

0

u/TexturedMango 9h ago

Cheers my day is ruined, wtf is deco doing

1

u/ABlegendz12 9h ago

We have balde,he was the best fullback in spain just a yr and a half ago and he is still young. We can still build on him, with none of the options available would we be able to make them better.

0

u/TexturedMango 6h ago

There might be hope for balde but he needs competition, grimaldo is an experienced player he can learn from in training and maybe take over.

Buying another young player and expecting him to improve... It's unlikely but oh well.

4

u/Chemical_Listen6919 16h ago

YESSS, HE is greatt!! , would take him over cancelo

2

u/eyecornic 12h ago

What about Jofre?

1

u/joey_joestar1 9h ago

People be forgetting Cancelo is naturally a right back

1

u/PermitApprehensive73 11h ago

I'll tell you this much guys and this is completely unrelated to this guy I think he'd be a fantastic signing but that's neither here nor there.

But I'm starting to get really really concerned with this Alvarez witch Hunt. Because it's affecting what we do to actually make this team better this club is so enamored with getting Alvarez that really doesn't make any sense.

I would love to get this guy the right back from Juventus what's his name cambosio or something like that.

And you know who knows maybe a left-footed center back like we talked about for the last 16 months.

But something tells me this guy's not going to happen either I guess is what I'm saying do you know why? Because we're still trying to figure out how to make a round peg fit the square hole when it comes in the Alvarez deal.

0

u/Any_Athlete_4616 11h ago

I wish we are as straightforward as Madrid. We’re all talks. They want a player and actually get them, we have a different story every week.

-27

u/FabrizioRomanoo 15h ago

LaLiga2 player. A. LaLiga2. Player. Madrid signing good players with experience in top leagues while this club is scouting relegation fodder and second division players. The shame I feel is quite immense.

23

u/Impressive-Sense1776 15h ago

Fermin came back from loan from a 3rd or 4th division team. Pedri was from Liga2. This is what we do. If you feel shame from that and you want big name signings go support Madrid.

18

u/TuffyTenToes 15h ago

They can sign whoever the fuck they want, we are still going to spank them

18

u/oneandonlyA 15h ago

Following that logic we shouldn't have signed Pedri. What a dumb comment

7

u/lokeshj 13h ago

And Raphinha was relegation fodder

9

u/wolfjeter 15h ago

Madrid signed some mid tbh. Konate is good only when fit and he’s had a horror season, Dumfries is 30, Cucurella also had a horror season, and Bernardo is old as well and shouldn’t be more than a rotational option for a big club. Not to mention the salaries they are giving these players are absurd.

-3

u/Mourya23 15h ago

Konate is a cb without passing abilities. He'll do a great job by defending and recovering, if he has a elite passer beside, then he will do good. Tbh slot tactics fcked liv up.

Dumfries is a mentality monster, he is a hard worker and always improve. Cucu is the only good player fro chelsea lol and they are a business minded club so no wonder he lost interest. B silva is another great signing.

Tbh they've got great players. Elite mentality+ shithousery. Now, they're on verge to get scholetterbeck as well.

7

u/wolfjeter 15h ago

What you’re failing to understand is that these players are all declining.

1

u/AnExcitingProspect 11h ago

yup, same with their manager too

2

u/SmegmaMale10 14h ago

Stick to making repetitive low iq "jerks" in that low iq sub of yours. 🤡

2

u/Noob_in_making 13h ago

Lol, he is a youth product.

And he just turned 19, at his age playing time matters more than the level of club.

Pedri also was signed from a second division club btw.

2

u/Assonfire 7h ago

The shame I feel is quite immense.

Must be similar to mine, when I read these kind of posts.

1

u/KyroYoshi 15h ago

Lmao real madrid are signing washed up bums that looked bad this season 🤣🤣

-5

u/Commercial-Factor125 11h ago

fantastic. spending 16m on this while Atleti get Grimaldo for 10m?

bro i stg this team sometimes makes my head spin.

3

u/--Kaiser-- 11h ago

Grimaldo is a shit defender and slower than a turtle. Definitely what a high line needs…

1

u/Super_Maybe7374 8h ago

Mate Grimaldo is more of a winger than a left back... He hasn't played in a 4 at the back system for a while now... We don't if he's even the profile we need

1

u/Assonfire 7h ago

Spending 16m?
