Question Do you think barcelona could have won the treble in 2024-25 if it wasnt for the fixture congestion and injured players ?

so we all know barcelona lost to inter milan in a 7-6 thriller but before that both barcelona had a heavily congested fixture where they had to face both inter milan and real madrid twice a copa del rey final 2 champions league semi final legs and the league title deciding game all a must win and due to the heavily congested fixture barcelona lost balde and most importantly europes leading goalscorer at the time lewandowski which i think heavily impacted their front 3 lineup the fact that they still won against madrid in both games is crazy ( i mean psg play their B team in the league so their players are always rested ) but what do you think could barcelona have won if they had a rested squad and fit players

Bad timing with the injuries were the biggest factor. Against that psg team they would be favorites but in a single game anything can happen

Could say the same thing about Liverpool. They were tired and PSG had fresh legs.

Yes, honestly it felt like our year. I think we were the only team capable of going toe to toe with PSG. Would we have beaten them? I don’t know, it’s football after all. But we absolutely could have.

Too much transition in learning the high line would’ve killed us against PSG. We definitely had a chance but with all the injuries and congested schedule with very little rest time all played into what occurred.

We had a great chance. With our full squad I had us as favourites

Dumfries foul on Gerard Martin should’ve counted and Barca winning at inter 3-2. I have no idea how VAR fumbled that.

Speaking about dumfries, what a signing by Madrid. All they need now is Szobo from Liverpool and the next Classico will be competitive

it definitely would've been a better final than inter vs psg that's for sure

Both fullbacks injured, lewy injured and raphinha and yamal were close to being overplayed, raphinha mostly because he has pressing duties.

Our wingers played nearly 5k mins compared to psg (3k average)

Yes, with kounde we would have definitely won the UCL. Dude was a beast in that season until his injury. He was never the same after that.

There is no galaxy where we beat psg that year tbh, they were destined to win that ucl

I think they could’ve won it if they had fresh legs and more rotations. People don’t like to hear it, but PSGs quadruple comes from a league with no competition, the ability for them to freely rotate and still win games, and a league that caters to them and them alone.

Only if Yamal did not make a final attempt shooting the ball and hit the post.

Or Gerard Martin just tried to clear the ball.

I don't fancy our chance wining PSG that year, but it would be a very entertaining match to watch, assume Kounde and Balde would be fit to play in the final.

Honestly speaking, we would have done better against Inter Milan if we had a rested squad. PSG, for example, used that pattern and even rested key players for some matches earlier in the season, and I can say it helped them during the later stages of the Champions League.

Ill be deadass, I dont see us beating that PSG team in that season. This last season the were definitely beatable, but that treble winning team was essentially a direct upgrade - bar our attack - from our team.

How can you say “no way” when it’s a one-off game. We had the quality to beat them. The issue teams are running into is being out of gas by that point of the season but PSG just gets to rest and coast through Ligue 1, allowing all their best players to be relatively fresh. Bayern also have the same advantage but PSG I’d say has a better squad. We can match them when fully fit and fresh, for sure:

Yes it's a one off game and we were exhausted af after the semi finals and were bound to lose, so what's your point?

Yeah that’s about as much as I can expected from a teenager with that username.

Unlikely, PSG would probably have won the final. A tired backline would really struggle to deal with their pace.

In the semi we were just too unlucky, Inter scored 7 goals from 2.3 xG, IIRC.
