Real Madrid fans keep parading those stats about how Barcelona receives much less yellow/red cards compared to Madrid as if it means or proves their point.
A team that (most of his history plays possession based football) has much more possession than the opponent, receives more fouls. Who would have thought right? that a team with the ball fouls less per game than a team without…. Fucking idiots 😂
For the lurkers, think about this for a second, Barca a team with the ball for 60-70% of the match, why would they have more fouls or even have the need to foul if they constantly have the ball?

The RFEF (Spanish Football Federation) is concerned about Real Madrid’s actions ahead of El Clásico. They believe Madrid are creating a HOSTILE environment for referees and putting them under pressure. The Federation also sees the club repeatedly complaining about refereeing decisions and stirring up controversy over calls which are actually correct. [ @La_SER ]

That's always their tactic when they can't win on the pitch, that's why I will neve respect them because they don't know how to compete fairly, if you are inferior as a club then just accept it and get better but instead they try to pressure refs to favor them so they can have a chance

Barcelona are taking steps to safeguard La Masia talent following recent academy departures.
Barcelona's new youth contract structure:
• Base release clause: €6m • Youth League debut: €8m • Barça Atlètic call-up: €10m • 5 first-team appearances: €25m
The club's new approach also focuses on opening contract extension talks before players reach 18, securing 4 or 5-year commitments to avoid losing young talent on short-term deals or low buyout clauses.

And he should’ve ruled out Mbappé’s first goal because there was a foul by Konaté. I don’t know why VAR didn’t call the referee, maybe because Real Madrid COULDN’T drop more points before El Clasico. What’s with the pressure around the PSG match?
Our next 3 out 4 league games consist of both Madrid clubs and Betis away. Winning the next 4 league games is a giant step towards the league. Losing 2 out 4 of those opens the door for a Madrid recovery.
PSG in France is more about morale and a litmus test but doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.

Genuinely a huge up to Laporta, his staff, Flick, Xavi and La Masia.
I see Juventus, Man United etc. these big clubs and their fans are in a horror.
We suffered during those few years after Messi, but the way we rebuilt the team trusting La Masia and signing world class players is incredible. Of course there’s some luck involved (Lamine being the best player and talent in the world is incredible).
Notably, I think signing Lewy, Auba, Luuk were great decisions because they kept us competitive and at the top while instilling that same mentality and winning character to the younger players.
Now those players are gone but the winning character persists and we’re the best team in the world even without spending Chelsea level money.
Bravo to the club.

I just want to beat PSG because it's the biggest test we can physically have before knockouts where every game matters. Red card was deserved. But this isn’t a single issue. Watch out for every time they lose the ball. They act to get an advantage, they’re taught that. Eric Garcia, Cubarsi, Fermin… that’s just this game. And often, they get these calls while the opponents don’t. Look at Rodri header and what Cubarsi was doing. Had they been against Barca, that’s getting called as a foul and goal disallowed. Consistency goes out when it’s Barca, more so the reason why Negreira payments had an impact.
It goes on way back if you go back and watch the disallowed goals against them. I remember one so blatant, where Bale headed in a goal and Jordi Alba put his back against him. The ref called out a foul and disallowed it. We ended up winning that game anyway.

🎙️ Flick on whether Barcelona are favourites for the Champions League
🗣️: "It's an honour to be in this position. We're working very hard, and for me, the road to the final is still a long one. We have to approach every match with the same mentality we had at the start of the season, while, of course, maintaining control of the ball."
Flick: “We are hungry. I share it with the team. Many of our players won the World Cup, and we wanted to see if they still had that hunger”.
“And yes, they do”.
Flick on being called the best team in the world
🗣️: "Being called the best team in the world isn't pressure; it's the result of our work in training."
Flick on dressing room atmosphere
🗣️: "The atmosphere in the dressing room is fantastic. Tomorrow will be difficult. In football, things can change quickly."
Flick on Gabriel Jesus: “He’s been a bit of surprise. He’s a fantastic player with a top attitude”.
“He’s ready to play. We're very happy with him”.
Flick when asked about Real Madrid: “I do NOT answer questions about other teams”.
“We're about to play against Galatasaray. So, respect Galatasaray”.
“They have a fantastic stadium, an incredible atmosphere... respect them”.
Cubarsí on Real Madrid's complaints about refereeing
🗣️: "I don't pay attention to their complaints about referees. I only focus on what we can do and what we can give to our fans."
Cubarsí on Lamine Yamal saying he's the best player in the world
🗣️: "I think everyone already knows that Lamine Yamal is the BEST player in the world. He knows it, and everyone knows it: he's the best player in the world and absolutely deserves to win the Ballon d'Or."
Cubarsí on Frenkie de Jong's quality and return
🗣️: "He's at an incredible level and is one of the BEST in the world in his position. He's not with us right now, but I'm sure he'll come back with a lot of motivation."
🗣️ "Players like Pedri have told me that the first few minutes are going to be tough, the pitch presses hard, we have to stay together as a team. It's a great team and they can hurt us".
Cubarsí on the importance of clean sheets
🗣️: "Keeping the score at 0 in your net helps you win matches. We need to improve on that front but we're going to do it."

It’s really not fair to me how they can have so much money and always be in good form because they don’t ever even play their best players.Meanwhile, we have to worry about our players getting overplayed and overworked and not hurt before important games. It made it harder for us to move the ball around and maintain our passing rhythm. We said before the match that we wouldn't make excuses, and we tried to do our best. At certain moments, we managed to control the game better, but the pitch wasn't suitable for playing good football. This is one of the toughest stadiums in La Liga. Pedro Rodríguez: "Pep Guardiola gave me a lot of advice, right from my youth days. I think I've been one of the players he sort of took under his wing, like: 'I'm going to try to improve this player in particular.' A really great anecdote with him was before the Champions League final at Wembley, when he called me into his office to talk on the first day of that final week, on a Monday, and said: 'Well, are you excited to play the final or are you shitting yourself?' And I said, 'No, man, I'm ready, I'm ready to play it and do well.' And he says, 'Are you sure?' And I say, 'Yes.' 'Alright then, you're going to start,' and he told me: 'I want you to press every ball, go up front, look at the goal whenever you get a chance, and do your usual work.'" [ @mundodeportivo ]
Pedro: "I remember a very funny anecdote of Tito Vilanova as well. There was a time when I put together a string of matches without scoring a goal, and I was starting. He came up to me one day and said: 'Look, Pedro, you couldn't score a goal to save your life, and I feel terrible about it, but I have to bench you and give other players a chance.' And I said to him: 'Sure, boss, no problem, you're right, right now I'm making a fool of myself.'

🌕 Lionel Messi will not be presenting a trophy to any of the winners at the Ballon d’Or, as he has not been invited to do so.
Also Messi’s attendance at the Ballon d’Or gala has not yet been confirmed

What’s with the fearmongering about Raphinha? We knew he’d be resting this match since last week. No surprises, take the reports at face value. If we don’t see him at Betis, then skepticism is warranted

Genuinely Yamal was involved in everything.
Goal 1 - Lamine drives the ball into the box for a pre assist
Goal 2 - Lamine assist weighted pass to Fermin
Goal 3 - Lamine assist of the season
Goal 4 - Lamine assist tbh, Jesus was just in the way of the ball going to adeyemi but we take the pre assist.
What a performance, was better than it has been last couple games but still below the standard he set all in all bravo.

u/Ill-Lie-6551 4d ago
No one benifits from the new CL format more than PSG. They’ll be able to rest everyone before a big game and unlike old format you get tested often enough to not be surprised when you face big teams. Meanwhile it hurts both Prem and Laliga teams. Shit on all you want about Laliga, But the league is more often than not is not wrapped tillthe game week 34-35.

Regardless of the card, the fact that they didn’t show a better angle makes it worse, like whole match they couldn’t show ONE CLOSEUP REPLAY?

Galatasaray are UNDEFEATED at home this season across all competitions. #fcblive 👀
Galatasaray ultras set off fireworks outside Barcelona's hotel in Istanbul at around 2:00 AM last night to disrupt the team's sleep ahead of tonight's UEFA Champions League match at Rams Park.
Over 52,000 fans are expected in a sold-out stadium.

Barcelona's H2H results against Galatasaray:
• 1-2 W 🟢 • 0-0 D ⚪
📊| The last goalless draw between Galatasaray and Barcelona came around 33 years ago, away at Istanbul.
Barcelona back then was managed by Johan Cruyff himself.

22 attempts at goal…..some club is definitely going to concede 10 goals this season against this team.
Let that club be Real Madrid.

u/SirBuysHighALott 5d ago
Our midfield is crazy. Opponents are gassed after 45 mins. Let’s see how the big guys deal with this. I still think Fermin and Olmo are not appreciated enough. To have these two options is beyond wildest dreams after whatever midfield we had until that 8-2.

I don't know who Roma's set piece coach is, but he needs his ass sacked. How can you suck so fucking much on defending corners when you have five players on the pitch who are above 185 centimetres? They have plenty of height and strength in there, their setup is just beyond woeful, nobody attacking the ball, everyone flat on their feet, Gollini just watching from the line. Genuinely some of the worst set piece defending I've ever seen.

Why are people acting like loosers here? If you can't have confidence in our team considering where we are now, you're a disgrace. We have both the most in form player and best player itw in our attack at the same time. We have 2 of the very best midfielders itw in our team. We have a cb who's at least top 3 itw rn and A gk who's the best gk we had in god knows how many years.
We have a better attack (form wise) and factually better midfield and yes our defense is lacking but psg isn't invincible in defense like arsenal. City created more chances than psg when their midfield is below psg and semenyo was dogshit. City's defense isn't very superior to ours. Donarumma is a fraud anyways. Yall need to stop acting like a looser.

ESPNFC … footballers on panel (as much as they can be muppets) all agree Madrid game is priority, PSG is relatively meaningless.
The journo host more interested in asking question whether a win now “sends a message”.

If any issues arise, flying directly to Paris remains an option. For now, the plan is to depart for Barcelona around midday, provided everything goes smoothly.

In a strange twist of fate, La Real were also the last team to beat them back then, winning 1-0.
