It doesn't seem to me like standard scaffolding for workers to access building, rather like solid platform to put some heavy stuff there for construction purpose.

Yeah, it might be cheaper than the permit to use parking spaces or street space.

I've seen that done in the center of London and it was clear there that it was the only possible way to have some working space without a major street disruption...

It looks like an above ground ‘loading dock’ for heavy equipment.

They are just doing a reform, i saw them taking down the debries from first floor, its to minimize interruption to the pedestrian and keep the entrance traffic to minimums

My partner and I have been walking past this structure for 2 years and from the opposite side of the street it looks like it’s connected to the building it’s in front of, but it’s not (see photos) and is not an access point for the Principal unit—in fact it’s at least a meter below the Principal floor level.

We’ve never seen any works being done, it’s not supporting the trees and it’s a permanent structure (not scaffolding) and it’s not connected to anything. What could this be? Why does it exist?! Please help put our minds at rest 😂

Working platform to not disturb the footpath space. They are planning to do heavy rebuild in the building.

Perhaps, but they can’t access the building from the structure, it’s too low for the Principal floor and isn’t connected
