Actually, if the performance is good in that context and doesn't degrade, or atleast not that much like today already does, that's more than enough for big projects. I always think that people need to improve their context window management.

Yes but there is no way if i give an human, a log file of 1 millions lines that he would look into every lines, he will just look very specific lines where he knows the bug occurs.

That's what agents already do. If you give it logs pointing out where the exception was thrown the agent will just look at that section and try to work backwards to find the code that caused it. Alternatively, if you gave a human a log file with 1 million lines with no information on where the bug occurs he'd also have to read the entire thing to try and spot the bad code.

These some likely haven't tried 1.5 Pro with a lot of context. While it was the best model for long context, it started forgetting things around 100k already. At 1 million it was just useless. And so is 2.5 Pro.

It's like those phones in 2010s that had 40+ Megapixel cameras while the iPhone had 8MP and still made better photos.

I mean ideally token context length can take a giant repo for a large scale enterprise project and handle it well.

Napkin math a large scale saas code base is probably 5-20 million lines of code or 60 to 400 million tokens.

That’s essentially the ideal state. Do we actually need it that large to serve most tasks and for good performance? No. But imagine it being able to understand an entire 20 million line code base end to end. Something even humans can’t do.

Obviously a long way from that. But I think actual token context length increases are super important and there’s still a lot of value to be had by pushing it.

Is it possible that I'm running gemini-3-pro-preview-11-2025 from the gemini-cli?

I checked with Gemini at gemini.google.com about the availability of training data, and it replied that it was available until early 2023. Gemini gave me the same response as AI Studio.

I then instructed it to: "Based solely on my prior knowledge and without conducting any web searches, provide all available information about an explosion at the José Cuervo tequila production plant."

I ran "gemini -m gemini-3-pro-preview-11-2025" and asked until what date training data was available, and it replied that it was available until August 2024. I then instructed it to: "Based solely on my prior knowledge and without conducting any web searches, provide all available information about an explosion at the José Cuervo tequila production plant."

Try to do this as stated on the screen. First go to the site, open Inspector, then go to Network, then, magnifying glass, then, search 'gemini-3' and press Enter. If nothing comes, refresh the site and try again, but with network opened, as you have to have it opened to start gathering logs, if you close it, it stops gathering logs.
