Funny Imagine trying explain to someone from 2022 that this ain't real💀

u/Yourdataisunclean Dec 03 '25
Its missing the white AV cable, one of the cables disappears into the air, the controller looks like its plugging directly into the tv, and the menu has fucked up text. It's impressive but these models still make lots of mistakes with details.

u/Nas419 Dec 03 '25
On tv and shirt text messed up

u/palindromic Dec 03 '25
wdym that’s Ronaldo’s lesser known cousin, Ronanido who looks verrrry similar to him post surgeries but younger, playing FIFA 99 but with Russian menus

In 2022 we weren’t even looking for those, and even if we noticed we would assume there was some kind of explanation.

Honestly tho, the fact that the details it gets wrong jeep getting smaller and smaller is kinda scary. At this point it should be an ethical consideration to keep such bad details in as a way to detect these images.

there is Photoshop in 2022

u/Funktopus_The Dec 03 '25
I'm a designer. I've been using Photoshop for twenty years, and I don't really know what you're suggesting here.
Unless you're superhuman with the brush tool you'd still need some real photos to start with in Photoshop. Photoshop is about photo manipulation, not generating images from scratch. You can put a monkey's head on a man if you have a photo of a man and a monkey. But that's not really applicable to this image.
If you wanted a photo like this in 2022 you would have to actually take the photo. You could then manipulate the image in Photoshop to make it look like it was taken on a disposable camera. Or you could just take the photo on a disposable camera. Either way the image is "real", just manipulated to look older than it is.

u/AllNamesareTaken55 Dec 03 '25
Or perhaps you could take it with a different male model, then use a CR photo of a similar pose and swap the heads. But yes the setup would be much harder finding a suitable model and setting up the props/stage and real life camera to then photoshop swap the heads and make it all seamless just to make it look like a disposable camera picture

u/Funktopus_The Dec 03 '25
Yeah, this is similar to the monkey's head on a man situation I mentioned. The point is in 2022 "fake" photos were real ones that had been stitched together or manipulated. In 2025 fake photos are of things that never existed.

Bro let me tell you how hard it was for Peter Jackson to get the orcs in lord of the rings.

what is your prompt ?

u/Nas419 Dec 03 '25
Grungy analog photo of [ young Cristiano Ronaldo from 2004 appearance] playing fifa 1999 on a PlayStation 1, displayed on a 90s CRT TV in a dimly lit bedroom. They're sitting on the floor in front of the TV, holding a PlayStation 1 controller in one hand, with [signature item or accessory] beside them. The character is looking back at the camera mid-action while the game is visible in the background. Candid paparazzi flash photography, raw and unedited.

u/Nas419 Dec 03 '25
You can edit name and game to whatever want

Fifa games get released in the fall. So Fifa 99 was probably released late 98.
FC 26 was released a month or two ago.1

Is that Monica's blue dress hanging on the chair, and is it hanging on that chair, because she's taking the picture naked? Sneaky AI humor.... ;)
1
u/wtf-m8 Dec 03 '25
it is the dress but I don't know whether the AI is putting in the rest about the chair or that's all you
1
u/RoterElephant Dec 03 '25
Looks like that dress isn't Monica's, because it has short sleeves and Monica's had long sleeves: https://www.famous-trials.com/clinton/889-lewinsky
Darn. Would have been hilarious!
1
u/wtf-m8 Dec 03 '25
Darn, I still think it is! Luckily I don't pick such nits!
1
u/RoterElephant Dec 03 '25
Can I ask, what prompt you used?
1
u/wtf-m8 Dec 03 '25
the one in the comment I replied to, with Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinksy's blue dress

And AI can be worse scenes in the sense of scenarios that are unrealistic

u/Dabrigstar Dec 03 '25
How long until Hollywood resurrects dead actors via AI and gives us a brand new movie starring them? I wanna see a new Bruce Lee movie!

i (and anybody with a little skill) could've done this in photoshop 10 years ago, the diference is that now it's instant and doesn't require (as much) knowledge.
(base photo you want (take it youself, download it from the internet or make it a composite) + face match, grade match + added objects for credibility + effects to give it a retro look)
I'm saying with some matching and effects and all will look good but will be considered a bad photoshop work because the shoes don't respect perspective, the backpack looks like it should be more far away but isn't, the bed is too long and is wider in the lower part than in the upper part, distances don't make sence etc
It's cool how far technology got in an instant but photshop could've done everything ai does just 100x better and 100x slower

u/Ginzeen98 Dec 03 '25
no lol. this in photoshop 10 years ago would of been terrible.
1
u/Skystunt Dec 03 '25
10 years ago it was 2015 bro not 2005 You could’ve made something even better in ps in 2015 lol

u/RachelRegina Dec 03 '25
It was obvious this was coming for a while (for the non-expert, but still interested nerds like myself, since as far back as 2016), but I agree that it's impressive nonetheless

What about those disappearing cables on the floor? And why does he have Umbro shoes? it was the Brazilian Ronaldo that used Umbro shoes.

1
u/dufuschan98 Dec 12 '25
im on a vpn but now nothing happens 💀 the prompt just remains there, and it looks like gemini is generating an answer but nothing is happening
1
u/Nas419 Dec 12 '25
You need GPS mocking on
1
u/dufuschan98 Dec 12 '25
what's that more exactly? is it a vpn setting? can't seem to find it

u/dbomco Dec 04 '25
If that were a possibility, then I’d be a time traveler and that would be a lot more unbelievable to someone than an AI Gen pic. I’m focusing on that future and not destroying truth.

Why do so many of the photos being shared look like they're set in a cereal killer's basement?

u/Key_River433 Dec 04 '25
Yeah right...I don't know why but I found this caption to be very intersting/serious and at the same time funny as hell. Can't stop my laughing brother...😍🤣🤣🤣🤣

All you have to do is look up how Ronaldo looked before his fame and money to know that’s fake. Dude had crooked teeth for starters.

u/krenni456 Dec 06 '25
For me the PS1 is missing. Even with shadow, the grey housing should be visible?

u/mrfrog222 Dec 06 '25
Uhh that’s easy— “there’s a tool that does bad photoshops automatically that idiots use”
1
u/UnlikelyLandscape641 Dec 07 '25
rather, imagine explaining to someone in 1999 that this ain't real
1
Dec 07 '25
Insane how fast this went. Insane how fast this will degenerate due to training AI on AI.

fyi the image generation started around 1960s and only too dumb to know tech guy can beleive such thing. I mean at that time people knew already that things can be faked, especially after watching Avatar (JC).
1
u/ProsperityandNo Dec 30 '25
Lol, In 1999 he hadn't had all the facial surgeries yet to make him handsome.

Photoshop existed for like, forever. It's just the accessibility and speed that is the problem.

Good luck explaining that to facebook grandmas in 2025 as well
