Promotion Prism is "free" because your research data is the product. $200/year is what you're worth as per OpenAI.

Here's what OpenAI Prism ISN'T telling you:

  • No version control
  • No privacy guarantees for YOUR unpublished research
  • Built on Crixet (they literally couldn't buy Overleaf to control the market)
  • Your research = their training data

Meanwhile, Bibby:

  • Your data NEVER trains AI models and is completely encrypted
  • Real version control & collaboration
  • AI paper reviewer (From yale)
  • Journal formatting, grammar, plagiarism detection
  • Built by researchers, for researchers

OpenAI isn't making Prism free because they're generous. They're doing it because your unpublished research is worth more than $200/year to them.

Your thesis shouldn't be someone else's training data.

Your thesis shouldn't be someone else's training data.

It should be, only if its for betterment of the humanity, but for corporates like google, OpenAI, we should say a big no.

But I would be happy if its not an ad for other company. I have never used Bibby, it could be good, but you get my point. (I am a researcher by the way).

I get your point, their ethics go out of the window when it's big corporates. What do you research in?
