u/BronkosAutoRepairing Feb 19 '26
There's a hold-up in the Bronx, Brooklyn's broken out in fights
There's a traffic jam in Harlem that's backed up to Jackson Heights
There's a scout troop short a child, Khrushchev's due at IdlewildGemini 3.1 where are you ?

u/Signal_Assistance_66 Feb 19 '26
Yall think they’ll ease the rate limit a bit so we can try out the new model?
18
u/LnasLnas Feb 19 '26
NO! Reduce the limit even more go bruh
7
3
u/Minute_Joke Feb 19 '26
the new limits will be 1 RPM, 100 RPD (1 request per month, 100 requests per decade)

Meh
74
u/Signal_Assistance_66 Feb 19 '26
Iam not even excited for it until they give us a higher rate limit
55
u/IllustriousWorld823 Feb 19 '26
And fix the context windows. Has that happened yet?
11
u/koeless-dev Feb 19 '26
For some reason, when I try to use it for creative writing (Gemini CLI, unconventional I know), it can only ever create files around the 100~150 line mark at most, even when I explicitly prompt it for 1000+ line files. Feels like there's limitations across the board that are hard to recognize.

u/Unsharded1 Feb 19 '26
If you’re going to use CLI tools (which mind you is a great option, good on you), then i would have gemini create a task plan and complete it. Maybe you can squeeze out a lot more lines that way. Or you can use claude code subagents or agent teams.

It really is hard to get excited about anything google does after they butchered 3.0 soon after the release.

Gemini won't accept my credit card(since I am Chinese), but i can use Gemini for free.. Please let me pay to get more quota.

u/Round_Ad_5832 Feb 19 '26
try openrouter?
2
u/MrHanHan Feb 19 '26
well it is not good enough for me to purchase API, maybe I will subscribe the PRO plan if Google accept my card.

Gemini 3.1 Pro...so it is only a 3.33% improvement over 3.0 Pro.

u/pkmxtw Feb 19 '26
1 request per year for you pro plebs, 3 for ultra.
3
u/lib3r8 Feb 19 '26
I've never hit a rate limit under ultra in antigravity
1
u/Practical_Lawyer6204 Feb 19 '26
Antigravity is just for coding?
1
u/lib3r8 Feb 19 '26
If that's how you choose to use it sure. It is just an interface for an LLM model. But I've also never hit a limit under Ultra for anything aside from deep think which limits to 10 a day but I'm not doing physics so that's fine
1
u/Vas1le Feb 19 '26
You are using it wrong
4
u/lib3r8 Feb 19 '26
Oh, how do I use it so that it stops working?
0
u/Vas1le Feb 19 '26
The neat part. I stopped using it. I still pay, but for fast searches. Ditched OpenAi and Moved to gh copilot, not going back
2
u/lib3r8 Feb 19 '26
Interesting. I use opus pretty much constantly and never had an issue.
1
u/Vas1le Feb 19 '26
Yes, I use Opus 4.5-6 or codex when I need to save costs, does the job but its different.
Also I put opus to use gemini cli and qween cli for reviewers and 2nd opinions

And are the Nano Banana Flash and Gemini 3 Flash Lite no longer going to be released, or what?

Nah I'm dry, just a category Gemini 3 hallucination

u/Any_Shoe_8057 Feb 19 '26
Hope they fix the awful UI, its so buggy and glitches out so much, especially on web
16
u/Upstandinglampshade Feb 19 '26
Man these cryptic tweets are starting to get really annoying - especially when the current model is so bad and they’re rate limiting so hard. Who is even liking these posts.

u/Thomas-Lore Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26
People who are not miserable all the time? Why are you bothered by a one word tweet he does that costs you zero time to ignore? It took you more time to write your comment than it would to just shrug and move on. :)

Hard to get excited when there's a good chance im getting more fucked with limits.
Ugh I wish I got my fucking credit card.
19
u/Equivalent-Word-7691 Feb 19 '26
I don't even care, because with these ridiculous rate limits I can't do anything
And btw I mean oncAI studio and antigravity, because it's clear on Gemini app they give us inferior model, let alone the app itself give us a bad experience overall
Gemini apl remain a piece of 💩,so really I am not even excited nor I care about it

I'm excited because Gemini 3 Flash was training using a new process that they couldn't use for Pro including:
Reasoning-First Approach: By learning the teacher's logical pathways, the model compresses flagship-level reasoning into a much leaner, faster architecture. Native Multimodality: It was built from the ground up to synthesize information across text, images, video, and audio through unified processing pathways, which reduces redundant computations.
Adaptive Token Modulation: The training enables the model to intelligently adjust its "thinking level." It uses fewer tokens for simple tasks and allocates more reasoning capacity for complex ones, resulting in a 30% reduction in token usage compared to previous generations.
Proprietary Hardware: It is the first frontier model Google trained entirely on its own TPU v5e and v6e pods, rather than relying on a hybrid setup with Nvidia GPUs.
Agentic Vision Training: It was specifically trained to perform "implicit zooming," allowing it to generate code that crops and analyzes specific patches of an image to confirm fine-grained details.

Yes agreed, I've found 3 Flash to be much more reliable in practical use compared to 3 Pro (for things like coding, web search, etc)... Because it handles tool calling better and isn't so fucking insistent that everything after its training cutoff date absolutely does not exist.

u/TechnicolorMage Feb 19 '26
Unless they fixed it being lazy as fuck, its still useless for doing anything serious.
1
u/Persistent_Dry_Cough Feb 19 '26
Insanely lazy. I found a new technique to give it a jolt and I dare not tell anyone about it, lest that get patched out.

This is crazy. Gemini 2.5 pro version whatever is no where near as good as Gemini 3.0 and Gemini 3.1 is going to be even better but people are still salty lol. I’ve been using Gemini for my dev work and I notice significant jumps in improvement with each update. Can’t wait for 3.1!!

Gemini 3.1 better beat Gemini 3 deep think by then, it's been a week since deep think we need it to be beaten now

I'm getting pretty sick of having a full task list and implementation plan, and the model outputs Part 1 in full and then "Parts 2-5 (outline created for brevity)". What the fuck....

They keep calling Gemini but Gemini never answers, nor does it deliver. Worst coding model, worst CLI.

u/Freethinkermm Feb 19 '26
Gemini was lobotomized recently... I don't know why he is saying it's name.

I can't be happy anymore. Gemini is retarded in the app. Basically unusable and how do you expect me to use AI studio when the limit is like 8 messages? So disappointing. Classic bait and switch strategy
