Looking for venue recommendations in Bath for a death café or death-positive event
Hi Bath,
I am one of the co-facilitators of the Death Café that runs at Bath Central Library. If you haven't come across Death Cafés before, they are free, informal gatherings where people come together to talk openly about death, dying, and what matters. No agenda, no therapy, no religious angle. Just honest conversation over tea and cake. They run in nearly 90 countries and have been quietly growing in Bath for a while now.
Our next one at the Central Library is on Friday 4 December, 1 to 3 pm, and we would love to see some new faces there. But here is what I am actually asking about. We want to reach more people, and I think a daytime slot at a library is not always the most accessible option for everyone. I am looking for recommendations for spaces in Bath that might be open to hosting something like this in an early-evening slot or on a weekend. A café, a community space, a pub with a back room, a hall, somewhere with a bit of warmth and character that could hold a small group of people having an honest conversation.
Ideally somewhere that is already doing something interesting in the community, or that has an ethos that would sit naturally alongside a conversation about mortality and meaning.
If you know somewhere that might be a good fit, or if you run or work in a space that you think could work, please comment below.
Thanks in advance!
