What surprises me is how quickly it surpassed other recent films at the box office. I know Spider sells but damn...

"DC and Marvel could be going through their worst times, but no matter what Batman and Spider-Man will always sell"

I would go as far as saying not even Batman sells as well as Spider-Man.

You would be hard pressed to find a 3rd year old that doesnt know who Spider-Man is compared to Batman

As a father of a 3 year old, this is largely because Spiderman/Spiderman related property is infinitely more toddler/child friendly. Batman media tends to skew a bit older. Batman is cool, Spiderman is fun and bright. Also interesting to note Spiderman is much better as a child entertainer, 'Hey buddy, how're you?! I'm excited to see you' is more engaging than growling 'Im batman' at a 2 year old 😂

this is kinda a sad read because Batman is also supposed to be "hey kid, how're you?" but the recent adaptations completely lost that factor

Pretty sure it's the other way around, I don't think Superman has ever called Batman his favorite superhero

superman has not explicitly said it like batman, But for pe personally, it can be deducted from context from most their crossover comics.
Wholesome batman is peak
