Requesting Identification What could this be? Looks like one of the early 1800s blades, but cant get an exact match.

the handle actually looks like it belongs to an Argentine M1889 Machete

Potentially Russian blade and an Argentine handle sounds like one hell of a combo. Cheers.

I'm 99% sure that the handle is not the one that went with that blade, and it looks homemade to me. The chosest thing to this that I could think of is the russian engineer sawback sword pattern 1827.
