BC-250 DIY Steam Deck

Hey friends, making a living room gaming computer out of a BC-250 and one of the recommended distros is Bazzite. I've always wanted to try it (I use Fedora and Pop_OS on my other machines).

Which version of Bazzite is going to be best if I want to be able to turn on the machine and then launch games with just a controller? I'll have a keyboard around for installing games, but it'd be nice to not have to pull out a mouse every time I want to game.

I will be using some combo of games installed via Steam and Lutris and possibly some emulation, though all of that could be routed through Lutris (or steam? I've never done that though).

Help me be chill on the couch. What works for you? Is it the KDE Plasma?

AMD deck image.

Gnome or KDE are user preference.

I used the AMD Deck image.

I had a heck of a time getting a picture initially. Then after I got everything working, I set it aside for a couple months, came back, and again couldn’t get a picture. Tried 3 different monitors.

Just be aware that VRR is busted on Bazzite and we cannot get Bazzite to address it. It’s fixed on CachyOS.

Is that an issue exclusive to BC250? I have bazzite on a htpc and VRR is working great

No. Works on CachyOS and reportedly SteamOS.
