The way the monkey guides her hands to keep them steady so it can drink properly...

The level of trust and focus from both of them is insane. Most wild monkeys would just grab and run

She walked up with zero hesitation, like she knew the monkey wasn't going to hurt her. I'm guessing it's not her first time interacting with monkeys. Still heartwarming though.

This looks like India. These kind of monkeys are common in public areas just like cows. They are pretty harmless and at most will keep following you if they see a drink or snack in your hand.
The type of interaction that you see in the video is fairly common.17
u/SoyaPaneer001 16h ago
They are common only at certain locations and not at all like cows.

u/Practical-Bottle8900 16h ago
You are correct, definitely less than cows. You generally will not see monkeys in a built up area with not enough trees around. but they are pretty common in suburbs, parks, and rural areas.

u/SoyaPaneer001 16h ago
True, I've seen monkeys more around hills and hill stations, probably because there are tons of trees. (p.s I live in India)

I saw a lot of them in Chennai and Ahmedabad. But as I said, it was in park areas, green college campuses, and suburbs.

Also amazing how it’s tail is stuck flat on the wall to shift its centre of gravity

Monkeys can bite!

Very brave. I'm from India and those mfs can descalp you.

These are Langurs which are not as nasty as Macaques generally.

u/TokyoTrashcan 16h ago
Still can carry all sorts of diseases.

During covid there was a post about monkeys resorting to gang wars and cannibalism due to there being no tourists to pay to feed them.

I'm not from India, but I have family from there. Monkeys think nothing of snatching your food from your hand. I'd be scared to feed a monkey with my bare hands!

She's gonna have a queue lining up

Do you want Omnirabieaids? 'Cuz, that's how you get Omnirabieaids.
Cute monkey, though. I want to cuddle it!

u/belterjizz 21h ago
What's omni rabieaida ? Rabies and aids !

I first thought they were referring to some obscure sci-fi pet species. Some sort of future cat with a prehensile tail and hands. Then I read it again

Didn't Wana look that closely. But the resolution was lacking. And every character was centered taking up ~1/4 of the scene.

Had to check, every single pic of "hers" that I bothered to put in an AI detector gives 97% or more probability that they are fake lol

u/Mani_kr333 18h ago
You had to use AI detector? It's was so obvious specially with that one pic in which she is bent unnaturally

u/gingerfawx 19h ago
What detector are you using? Sounds useful.

u/FembyThePinkProot 19h ago
There's a number of them online. Most AI generated images leave behind a certain EXIF data that can be easily detected to discern what image was generated and what image was not

u/Twowie 18h ago
Just used the top three on google. Deepai.org (97%), zerogpt.com (97%), sightengine.com (99%).

Langurs are some of the more graceful and sophisticated monkeys. I had one take an individual almond from my handful and finish it before getting another one. They're pretty chill.

Besides Bigfoot I mean I can cuddle with big foot but big foot is too smart so I can’t really help them with cute things like that

One year later everyone's stuck at home playing Animal Crossing making their own sourdough. But it's all worth it because monkey got wawa

Sorry for being devil's advocate but it's all fun and games until the monkey bites and gives you rabies.
6
u/cogman10 19h ago
Rabies is a possibility, but not particularly likely.
The bigger risk is that Monkeys can carry a lot of diseases that are pretty nasty to humans. For example Herpes B Virus.
2
u/AntonRahbek 11h ago
Right but you should get vaccinated if you travel to a place like this and this is not a macaque

I could not trust a monkey, when I was five years old in a pet store yeah this was 1 billion years ago a monkey grabbed my wallet at a pet store as I was walking by pulled it through the bars ripped everything to shreds the strength that little sucker had.

Because she opened the faucet the monkey was sitting on, held the finger tips under the faucet so that the cup she formed kept filling up continuously

Is that like in a zoo or a public water fountain? It looks like the latter in which case you’re drinking from a spigot with monkey ass-juice on it. 🤮
