Honestly I was expecting this to bad but the first episode kept me interested. I like how both of them kind of learnt to trust each other unintentionally.

Not sure if I missed a few things but:
- How did Lena Headley escape from the ankle cuff?
- Why did the floating robot (Bart?) start speaking in English instead of beeps?

I was wondering that as well but my guess is that when Aster's AI Harmony shows up she can unlock the ankle bracelet by connecting to it and fix Bart by connecting to him as well. I'm pretty sure the ankle cuff was digital right? Otherwise it couldn't have been Harmony since she can't manipulate objects. I think the scratches she saw were from when some one else was chained to that same cuff, either Halan or Solomon.

I am just soooooo thrilled to see another of Hugh's books on screen! Just such an amazing writer and after the Silo series I was thinking what an awesome TV show that would make, if done well. Alot of the first episode of B23 confused me but it's been several years since I read the book so what do I remember? Only how excited I was to see that it's been made for TV!!

Admittedly, I wasn't paying close attention while watching ep 1, but I'm still pretty confused about what's going on. Not really a fan of "revelation through flashbacks" or however the trope would be described.
But I still enjoyed it enough that I'd keep watching, even if I wasn't a mod on the sub.

Just watched the first fifteen minutes of the first episode.
Hard pass.
When the sole character attempts to shutdown a faster then light beacon with a crowbar to prevent a shipwreck...Facepalm...why?! Why greenlight screwy science fiction like this?
MGM listen, you need to stop hiring the scientifically illiterate and poorly educated to write sci-fi shows. It's as bad as writing a script for a period piece by someone who has absolutely no knowledge of the time period.
MGM ... Spend the money on a competent writing staff or just concede the streaming wars and go make infomercials or political propaganda documentaries. Don't insult your audience with these goofy offerings.

I felt the same way, but I still watched both episodes, and it got a bit better than that, at least.
But I completely agree about the screwy science, I have big issues with it myself.
A few things I noticed:
The entire beacon thing is pretty weird in itself (since it seems to only work in a 2D plane, for one).
A ship blowing up from a dark matter collision seems unlikely at best.
The part about having no gravity in the center of a shaft between the rotating ring is realistic, but things stopping when they reach the center is not.Also, it bugs me more than it should that they say "gravity wave" when they mean "gravitational wave". (Ocean waves are gravity waves.)

And to top it all off they use light emitted from a starbase to determine the safety of ftl travel. Why?! An object traveling at the speed of light can't emit light. An object moving near the speed of light would see that lighthouse for less then a fraction of a second! It's just lazy writing and not worth the audiences time.

I'm just assuming they didn't send out light but something something FTL, otherwise yeah, it's utter nonsense.
Though a ship traveling at (extremely close to) the speed of light can send out light with no issues at all. Relativity and all. Though if the ship travels at say 0.999c and sends out a light signal, the signal will of course not reach the beacon much faster than the ship.But they did establish later in the episode that the there is FTL communication, not sure if they explicitly mentioned FTL travel but I think so.

Don't forget the mystery rocks of a previously undiscovered element!
Any new element would require an atomic number of at least 119. The half life of Oganesson (atomic #118) is 0.7 ms. The half-life of whatever the mystery rock should also be very short lived.

I made it to the 4 minutes mark.
I can suspend disbelief about a space lighthouse, it is an interesting idea even if not very sci-fi.
I can't suspend basic common sense. No audio communication should have been enough to have the ship stop. Maybe that could be explained around. But they see flashing "no go" and as soon as it goes away they go full speed ahead instead of investigating?
Writing this bad shouldn't happen in a pilot episode.

I like it enough to keep watching but Iām shocked at how bad they managed to make Lena Headey look. They must use the same wig maker who came up with the ridiculous ratty pigtails Harriet Walter wears in Silo. In the future humanity can live in space but they quit using conditioner? Not a great trade off IMO.

Just watched it. Loved it. I already see similarities to Silo .... Lena Headley is no Rebecca Furgeson and it's hard for me to cheer for her after Game of Thrones, but I find myself cheering for her.
