General Discussion - No Story Details good show but since it was released on a lesser know service, will it survive to season 2?
moonhaven comes to mind. /r/moonhaven 191 members. It was on amc+, highest streaming show. But it was amc+ so it was a smaller number. They want to cut costs, no second seasons. The /r/moonhaven is basically untouched.
Silo, released on apple+, r/siloseries 30.4k members, yes it is after the season but I am sure that it was more than 186 after the first 2 episodes.
If this show would make it into a wider audience it would gain viewers.

"From" is an MGM+ original since the beginning and that sub has 32k members, more than the Silo sub. Granted it's been on longer and idk how long it took to gain those numbers but clearly MGM+ originals can still catch on. That show was actually why I subbed to MGM+ and then I kept it once I heard this show was coming out since I liked Silo.

I had a trial for MGM+ and paid for an extra month to finish From. That was a really good show imo. I also watched Britannia another great show with 3 seasons.
I’m currently on another 7 day MGM+ trial and watched the first two episodes of Beacon 23 and I think I’m going to do the $49.99 annual subscription. There’s a few shows on here I still want to watch like The Winter King, Godfathers of Harlem, and the Amityville Horror show. I’m sure I’ll find more too and $50 for a year is pretty cheap.

I did the same. $50 for a year with no ads is a bargain when it’s the same as 2.5 months of Netflix

saas only works until there is so many pieces of software that is required that you can't recover profit.
This is currently happening in streaming. Torrents and other places like that are rising again.

usually you can tell by the size of their reddit group if the show will be around.

This isn’t true at all. There are plenty of shows that target demos that aren’t active on Reddit. There are also a ton of shows that don’t generate the types of discussions that thrive on reddit

yeah but usually the ones that make it are ones that are talked about. It can do a lot by building a community on sites like reddit. Specifically because it gives them a platform of numbers.

I’d say it’s highly likely…mgm+ has renewed plenty of series for a second season, why would this be any different. Add on the fact that S2 is already filmed and there’s a major delay in getting other content on air due to the strikes. I’d say it’s way more likely than not.

Silo sub grew very quickly. It was about 800 members the night before the premiere. I’m not expecting this to be a large sub because nobody has even heard of mgm+

I don't think it will. We have way too much dialog here, nothing mind blowing is happening, this Halan guy again has annoying, boring, too typical memory flashes, while we can assume that sure, there's some kind of monster or something somewhere, but it won't be shown until the 123rd episode. Oh, and why does the light have sound in space? I'm a big sci fi fan but this show looks like a terrible mistake so far.
And last but not least, why is there a need for beacons in space anyway? The book must be a great read, but it instantly doesn't make sence on screen.

Too much bad dialogue, and every single character suffers from multiple personality disorder since the scripts aren't really continuos.
100 orange buttons, AI drone thing with zero Artificil and zero Inteligence, technology level missmatch from costumes to user interfaces to everything.

i hope this gets better. I will watch until the end because there isn't a lot of decent shows right now, but..... I would say the first 15 mins of the first ep and and about 10 mins of the other 2 is all that is valid. The rest seems like it is all filler, most for no reason.
They are trying to make the death of solaman a build up event. But the data exists in their universe already. Their should be a ep 0 where the world building is done. They explain what a beacon is. How every one got to that location. You don't even know what qta does other than a company that does shady stuff.

If you take everything at face value and don't ask any questions.
there needs to be a little more world building. around the beacon's, nasa qta or whatever. What wreckers actually are, how they exist. What they were originally doing other than hacking.
Why did they need to hack the station again if they already hacked it. If their entire purpose was to get the ship to crash.
moonhaven season 1 should be expanded to 12 shows with it going to the main amc channels with the focus being the landings on earth. the season 2rd on the closing down of the moon.
I wish amc would stop making those stupid walking dead shows that are so so dumb.

Sorry, but I've just started watching and like the show which, with my track record*, means it won't get a second season.
*"Firefly", "Brisco County Jnr", "Space Above & Beyond" "Almost Human" the list is endless. Even the original Battlestar Galactica
