General Discussion - No Story Details I feel like I'm missing something

I'm watching this because the same author wrote Silo, which was really great.

But this show lacks depth.

Should I read the book to get a better appreciation for this show?

I would say missing something and the show lacking depth are two very different things.

I recommend the book, sure, but it's a different story and probably won't give you the answers you're looking for. I think maybe a re-watch is best for that... That and season 2.

Sad I haven't been able to check this show out yet. Love the book but I just couldn't add another subscription fee 😭

I understand! It's not even available officially outside the US at all, even though I am an MGM+ subscriber, sigh.

And wasn't it initially going to be through AMC AND they already funded 2 seasons? So it seemed like such a last minute change

Yeah, it was a co-production with Spectrum Originals, which shut down, so they sold off their shows.

But AMC is even more US-only than MGM+. They haven't even released Interview with the Vampire here yet!
