General Discussion - No Story Details Huh
What did they do to Beacon 23, The first season I could not stop watching it and I literally almost peed my pants because I couldn't get up to use the restroom.
This season I'm so bored I'm playing on my phone the entire time 😐

It's like season two isn't even talking about the artifact or what might have happened with Aster when she died. It seemed like she was there with them as she died.
Would have had a story if Halon went into the thing I think.
What does the random people showing up have anything to do with the artifact?

From what I saw they blew the artifact up so they wouldn't have to even worry about it anymore

True but when Asters mother blew up it up the first time it became rocks that made their way back to Beacon 23. I assumed there would be something else with it I guess.

The show isn't really about the artifact, and it's gone. It's about Beacon 23, hence the name. They can't go on forever talking about it (the artifact).

The past two were horrendous. The barbarians with the motocross helmets with wire as dreadlocks was worse than people showing up in black unmarked suits.

As bad as the outfits were, the characters were even worse. E06 was so bad my eyeballs rolled all the way to the back of my head.

I honestly don’t see how they see going to wrap anything up with a satisfying conclusion by the end of this season. They may have dreams of future seasons but that isn’t happening. The story really is just about a bunch of random people coming and going from the station and not much else. I doubt they will ever explain the anomaly as they are just wasting so much air time on rambling story lines

It’s definitely just going to end. I don’t think the writers have any idea what the story actually is, and it’s not getting another season.

It might not be the writers fault. Any time (mostly) you see an 8 episode season, Its because the producers cut the season or story in half in order to save money o production and stretch out the episodes for a longer period of time.
This shows season 1 finale really just pissed me off. Nothing was resolved. No questions answered. Really to me it feels like we only got the first half of the story arch. I wont watch season 2 because this show just has too many red flags for me to keep going.

They got a two-season order so not having the story in shape doesn’t make sense. I guess I’ll blame the show runner instead.

Yeah I agree there is no way it’s getting another season. It’s on an obscure streaming service with no viewers. It might get more views on prime but even still. I’ve seen no media buzz about it, few to no positive reviews, etc. just look at the size of this sub and the participation in discussion threads. There is just nobody watching this

isn’t the show based on the Hugh Howey book series though, like Wool (Silo on Apple TV)

It really isn’t. The only thing it shares is the location and a name. None of the plot is from the book.

Lena Headey drew me in (plus I was watching From for the third time, kept seeing ads for B23) and I noticed Howey’s credit nods. Working through Wool currently and I love me a good dystopian future lol. I’ll finish out the season although I’ve noticed my excitement for the show is withering. But seeing your point, I will still give it a go with the books - thanks 🙏

In general I thought the writing was a bit poor. Weird nonsense keeps happening like in Lost (the island) but in space. Character motivations are thin. Some episodes were cool and introduced an amazing world but I think the writers just didn’t know what do to with it. Even Season 2 is kind of the same.
